Sunday Afternoons Sport Hat

Pop on the Sunday Afternoon Sport Hat when the sun's beatin' down and there's no cover in sight. This UPF 50 hat repels UV rays and painful sunburns. Don't be fooled by the ultralight low-profile design — it still gives you plenty of coverage with a full-crescent, four-inch brim, and a five-inch rear neck veil. Stuff the Sport Hat into your pack or pocket for travel or hiking trips, and get a custom fit with the adjustable strap.

Bottom Line: Here comes the sun, it's alright.

Traveling the World

By:
August 13, 2009

I brought this on my backpacking trip through Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand and the Cook Islands. The thing saved my dome from burning on multiple hikes, treks (tramps in NZ), Beach days, etc. I got it in Sand cause it looked like the best guys color plus it doesn't show dirt.

Super lightlightweight with a good size adjusting and chinstrap.

In Vietnam a tourist actually offered to buy the hat off my head for $100! I declined since it was right at the start of my trip and I would need it for the rest.

Awesome sun protection

By:

I love this hat. It's super lightweight so I can wear it all day. I was captain of the last rest stop on the Mountain Lakes Challenge - a century ride here in Oregon and stood in the sun and amazingly WINDY weather all day - I cinched that sucker down on my head with the adjustment loop and didn't even have to use the chin strap. I also count on the hat for paddling because it protects my neck and the tops of my ears. The sage color looks great on everybody - especially blondes.
I do have to add that I don't recommend folding the hat brim. The brim is made from foam core and will crease permanently, so if you're taking it on your travels - pack it flat.

Sunday Afternoons Sports Hat gone to South America...

By:
July 28, 2008

Well, I had the hat for about a month when my son spotted it... He was heading to South America (Peru and Ecuador) and thought the hat would be useful down there. Didn't think it looked too feminine so he scooped it! Like me, he is quite fair and needed the sun protection, so like any good Mom, I gave it to him. He particularly liked the ample sizing -- the hat was a large and fit his head nicely. It has a cinch strap on the back that allows for a tight custom fit. Now I need to order another one...! Great hat.
