Not made for curvy women

These seemed like good pants, so if they fit you, you might love them. They are mid-rise, nice-looking, and not the least bit bulky. However, if you have hips like a girl, these pants might not fit you well. My build is fairly average, and the difference between my waist & hip measurements is about 10" -- not huge. But these pants were very tight in the hips, while leaving a huge gap in the back waistband. So if I'd gone up a size, the waistband gap would have been even bigger. Cold place to let snow get in, ya know? (The Patagonia Alpine Guide pants fit me better.)

Nice pant!

I was a bit hesitant to buy these as Stoic is a new brand, but I am glad I did! They are very well made, and fit very well. I will use these for backcountry touring, I wanted something lighter & more breathable than the shell ski pants I already have. I got my normal size, and they fit well. They are a bit slimmer than other pants I have/have tried on, but I don't mind. They fit fine over my tele boots. They do zip up the leg a bit, but don't have any type of liner inside to keep snow out so this may be an issue in deep power. They have a heavy reinforcement patch on the lower inner leg, which is pretty tough material. If you scratch it with your nail it makes a really loud sound (think chalkboard). All in all, I am happy with these, and can't wait to be able to use them! (P.S. "Not black" is black.)

got these for my wife

By:

I got a pair of these for my wife after getting one for me (male version though) and they fit her perfectly. We were a bit worried they were going to be too big but XS is perfect for her. She usually wears XS. They could have been a bit tighter at the legs because they're very stretchy but it's fine like that too.

I think they run a little big

By:

First off, I am a male. I was so excited to get a pair of these pants off steep and cheap that I accidentally ordered a medium in the female version. I normally would wear a men's medium, although after the women's medium actually fitting comfortable around my waist, I'm thinking about getting a men's small. My two cents would have to be order these a size down from what you normally would. I normally wear pants with a 32-33 inch waist, and these pants are supposed to fit someone with a 29.7 inch waist in the size I ordered. Granted, I didn't have any layers underneath it, but I still think you should order a size down.

I obviously didn't take them out to try them, but they feel like a quality pant that will serve very well as a backcountry ski pant, or in winter mountaineering, with layers.
