Spyder Venom Spin Shell Pant - Men's - 2006

With a baggy fit and flexibility that even you can't match, the Spyder Men's Venom Spin Shell Pant is as comfortable hucking Lincolns off cliffs as it is floating a 60-foot table. Spyder combined a gusseted crotch with stretch fabric to guarantee you'll never get caught up while tweaking a grab or arcing giant pow turns. The Spin Shell Pant's inner-thigh vents provide maximum cooling power on warm spring days. Spyder also added reinforced cuffs to withstand the punishment of sharp ski edges. Unique pocket styling and a fat snap fly sets the Venom Spin Pants apart from any other ski pants on the market.

Bottom Line: Put the Spin into your rotation this winter with the Spyder Venom Spin Shell Pants.

Poor design detracts from otherwise good pant

By:
April 5, 2007

Had a chance to try these out a few times now and in terms of weatherproofness they seem to hold up well. The relaxed fit is stylish and quite comfortable and despite what the description says, they do have leg zip vents - on the inside of the thighs. However, I found a few issues while wearing them. First, no adjustable waist. There are belt loops, but that just means one more thing for me to forget to pack. Second, the cargo pockets are placed over top of the waist pockets. What good are they there? Lastly, the cuff guards are the smallest I've seen on a pair of ski pants, which worries me that I'm likely to be patching cuts in the future. As I said, as a whole they are decent pants, and much of these issued are just personal preference based on what I've been used to in the past, but from my own experience there are better options out there that don't have these problems. Try the Marmot Cargo Pant or North Face Freedom Pant instead.

Wrong sizing

By:
October 10, 2007

The sizing on these pants is completely wrong. "Large" actually has a 40-inch waist, which should be XXL according to the sizing chart.

If the pants were anywhere near the right size, they might be OK, I suppose. But since there aren't any Medium in stock, I have no way to test that theory.

Very Nice Ski Pants

By:
February 21, 2007

Just got back from a week of skiing in these pants and have to say they functioned flawlessly. They withstood everything the mountains could throw at them including 50 mph winds! The pockets are nice with velvet lining and waterproof zippers. The only issue was in the sizing. They ran a little big, had to return them to get a size smaller, but well worth the effort.
