Spyder Steeps Shell Jacket - Men's - 2008

If sharp pitches, deep snow, and untracked lines are what you crave, then the Spyder Men’s Steeps Shell Jacket will take you there. Thanks to stretch nylon fabric and a Dermizax EV waterproof membrane, you can tear down the biggest, baddest slopes in totally dry comfort. The removable storm hood and vent zips let you open it up on bluebird days, and the gripper powder skirt and internal hem cord seal out spindrift when you’re snorkeling through fresh pow. A RECCO avalanche reflector and an SOS whistle add safety when cruising ungroomed terrain, and internal pockets for your goggles, ski pass, and MP3 player keep you organized when you’re in-bounds. For emergencies, Spyder printed the jacket’s liner with an international distress symbol and universal safety info such as body rescue signals, emergency phone numbers, and distress Morse code.

Yes they are helmet compatible. You may have to unzip the front a little to fit your helmet in their, depending on the style, but it will fit a helmet.

I am a believer in everything this site and company offers. I tried to go to a local vendor and they offered me numerous other jackets but said I would have to special order this and if I didn't like it too bad and pay 540.00 I took a chance and order this after talking to Spyder directly about what I wanted. I have a 45 inch chest with 30-31" waist and short arms. I hate that most insulated jackets make me feel like something out of a Christmas Story. This shell is warm.. I really cannot wear it very long indoors. It is so functional it is crazy and with my broad shoulders and chest...the stretch technology is awesome when you want to really reach out in dynamic fashion. There is a lot of detail you cannot see. The pockets and construction are so tough...I thought all my gadgets (iPhone with hardshell, ipod, wallet, goggles, money and other stuff would be bulky or not look smooth but this jacket just ate it up without so much as a bulge....how I do not know. This can work out on the town, in the true back country, or with the backpack compatibility for Alpine use easy. It is crazy hot and fully weatherproof with just one thin layer. In black it rivals any North Face Apex I have owned. You cannot go wrong with this purchase. Oh yeah, it arrived in less than 48 hours.

It covers manufacturer defects. It's lifetime, that means for life. Some brands have unconditional warranties that cover any failure in the product. You'll have to look that up on your own.Backcountry also has an unconditional lifetime guarantee, even if the item isn't defective. You're covered.
