Spyder Chute Shell Pant - Men's - 2008

The Spyder Men’s Chute Shell Pant features three key elements for backcountry skiing – stout weather protection, full mobility, and cargo space. The Chute’s Dermizax waterproof breathable membrane and fully taped seams seal out intrusive snow and moisture, while Spyder’s Geometric Expansion allows you to move freely whether you’re skinning up or dropping in. The RECCO avalanche rescue reflector helps you prepare for emergencies, and the multiple pockets store your goods for the day. Zippered vents let you dump heat on the strenuous ascent, and reinforced cuffs stand up to abuse from sharp ski edges.

Bottom Line: Shoot the chutes in this backcountry ski pant.

When I have my fleece pants under them they seem regular. Thing is they have expansion chambers around the knees so they feel like baggy fit.

Nice Pants

I bought these to go with my Spyder Steeps Shell Jacket. It has been a cold winter up in the Northeast. With a pair of fleece pants underneath we were skiing at negative 5... before windchill =) They will be just as great in the Spring since they are only a shell!

Best Shell Pant

I've taken these pants from 22 degrees to 50 degrees days. Work great. Lots of room for layering on really cold days (no 22 degrees is not cold, well to some it is) and not to warm on the hot days. Sharp looking, many deep pockets (though I don't have a lot to fill them with) that open and close easily. I always wear a knee brace on both legs when skiing these offer plenty of room. Love the way the pants unfold over the knees, no pulling off the waist... so you don't display the crack... at least by accident. Easily allows access to adjusting boots. I would buy these again.... worth the $$$.

Insulated pants have insulation, shell pants are just a waterproof shell.
