Spy Targa II Goggles

Flip down the Spy Targa II Goggle and take this standard issue goggle all over the mountain. This solid goggle features a flexible frame that conforms to most faces. Spy's Scoop ventilation system eliminates lens fogging to help you see obstacles and jibs more clearly. Dual lenses with total UV protection and anti-fog and anti-scratch protection make sure you clearly spot your landings. The Spy Targa II's dual-adjustment strap makes sure you find the right fit. Spy added silicone ribbing to the strap to ensure a secure fit.

Bottom Line: Standard issue for spies.

Great goggle for the price

By:
December 2, 2009

I bought a pair of these about five years back, overall treated me well. Good for people who have a larger face. I bought an all black with a persimmon lens. The lens was very okay for high level light and great for anything in between that and night. Night was a little dark but still safe enough if your not going crazy. These goggles almost never fog up and when they did i was breathing into them. But once they fogged up they had a really hard time clearing up again. They fit great with a Xl r.e.d helmet. So it should fit most helmets. For me they have been extremely comfortable. They have an okay field of view. The lining is also made very well to it help up to five years of use and is just now starting to wither. The silicone lining gives great grip for any surface.

For the price I dont think they can be beat. Great for skiers and boarders that want good quality with a budget.

It is not completely mirrored over if that is what you are asking. If people look really closely they will still be able to see your eyes.

wont last you a season!

these goggles look a great online, but their basic and flat lens loses a lot of the integrity of the goggles. I bought them for a deal and with two lenses, after a few days at alta and snowbird, i already had cracks and huge fog issues, it's worth it to take a hit and get a pair of goggles with spherical lenses (oakley, scott, and some of the better spy models) if you want a solid pair of goggles that wont fog up on you when you need them most.

These goggles are made for a Medium to Large face which will be pretty large yes and provide a lot of coverage. You wearing an XS helmet they might be a little large. I wear a Large or XL helmet and a Medium/Large fitting goggle fit me extremely well.

Good for the $$... if you get the $35 version. Fog/steam control is an issue as well as poor performance in low or flat light. On the plus side, the rubber anti-sliding strip on the strap is handy and these are quite comfortable.

The DL: Good back-ups in case your high-performance eyeball protectors lie down on the job.

How would these fit with a Smith Holt helmet?

I have a Smith Holt helmet and it has plenty of room to fit just about any goggle. I have both Oakley crowbars, and Oakley wisdom goggles and they are both pretty large goggles and they fit with my helmet just fine. So you should be good to go with these goggles as well.

Good Goggles

By:

I have last years model i think. I bought them for 20 bucks off of whiskeymilitia. However they do have the gold Mirrored lens. Really happy with them. Mirror only reflects in certain lights, and had some minor fog when i tucked my bandanna into the goggles, but the problem was easily fixed by making sure i had clear opening at the bottom for the air to escape. A good cheap goggle.

I'm steamed

I went for a short hike to a great powder line the other day. Unfortunately I couldn't see much of my hike and had to stop frequently on my ski line because these goggles fogged incessantly. I do not recommend them. I know I'm a sweaty guy and have more problems with goggles fogging up than most people, but this was ridiculous. The wind was blowing hard and it was pretty cold. It should have been sufficient for the ventilation to deal with the moisture.

The silicone strip that Spy puts on goggle straps is a great innovation. It really keeps them in place on your helmet, especially when you put them up. Unfortunately I had to keep them up on my helmet for most of my morning while wearing them. I couldn't remember why I hadn't worn these goggles in a while, but now I do. I will not be wearing these again. They fit OK with a Smith Variant Brim helmet, although the strap could be a bit longer - it was pretty tight.

Nice Looking and Good Value

By:

These Spy goggles look pretty sick and haven't fogged up on me yet. The silicone on the strap works well too. I wanted to replace my Smith's because the clip on the back would not fit under my helmet clasp, so I had to shift the goggles to the side and always felt one side pulling more than the other. The strap system on these Spy's work perfectly with my lid. Definitely recommend for the price I paid.
