The Sorel Bota Bag Boot allows you to wear the same comfy boot around the house and outside in the snow to grab the mail or take the trash out. This waterproof slip-on boot is made from full-grain leather. Sorel's construction not only keeps this boot dry but breathable as well. The fleeced-lined Thinsulate insulation ensures warmth during the cold winter months. The Bota's removable polyurethane footbed gives some cush to your step when you have to hightail it out the door to hit the shops or meet up with friends.
Bottom Line: Bota Boot: slip-on comfort meets the durability of waterproof leather.
So, I wanted something as warm as the traditional Sorrels, not as high cut as a mukluk, and without that industrial Canadian timber harvester look. I just got finished wearing these boots for 4 days in the sub-freezing, snowing, raining, red dirt hell that is the Southern Utah desert in winter - and my feet were as warm as if they were cradled in my girlfriend's cleavage. I loved the softer sole, as it didn't collect the mud in the treads that the regular meat-grinder pacs do. It was a delight not to have to drag twelve pounds of sticky red mud with each step, stop every five minutes to clean out the tread with a stick, and generally swear much more than usual. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a non-traditional hipster winter casual boot that didn't need to occasionally strap on a crampon, wade through hip deep pow, or kick a wounded badger.
.HI: I want to buy these boots for my mother-she has huge feet. She told me to buy men's 10.5, but many of the reviews say to buy 1/2 size smaller. Also, shipping is free, but if I need to return, is that free too?
These boots have been awesome so far, but 1 design feature has prompted me to provide only 3 stars.
Overall they are warm, comfortable and look good. Great for around town, after skiing and general warmth. They seemed true to size for me.
The bad: if you ride your bike in the winter, the slit down the front of the shoe lets a nasty draft in. This freezes the ankle and can cause the whole foot to feel cold. I have liked these boots enough otherwise that I'm taking them to someone this week to have some windstopper fleece (or similar) sewn into the "gap" area. This may also prove to be an issue if you are walking through any snow over ankle high.
After my modification, i'll give a revised rating of 5-stars to myself :)
Love the boots - so comfortable - I use them as slippers (very warm) as I always have very cold feet. Easy off and on. They run pretty small so you will need 1/2 size bigger than usual.
Do these boots run a little wide? my husband has a EEE foot and in the store they looked like they might run wide. I can't seem to find a wide slip on boot and this looked like it might work.
One of the most comfortable boots I have worn and they are really warm even without socks. I wear them in below zero temps clearing snow and my feet have never got cold. Only bad thing is I haven't been able to find replacement foot beds for them.
I bought these boots to wear before and after skiing. If the snow every starts falling I think this boots will be great. Very comfortable and warm . . . remind me of my house slippers.
These boots fit very true to the listed sizing for me. My Sorel Caribou's ran just a bit large, which I thought would be the case with the Bota but they were much more true!Hope that helps.
I was looking for a boot that was fashionable, functional, and easy to put on/take off. This is it! I'm very pleased with my purchase. They're tall enough to keep the snow out and my pants fit great over top of them. My only complaint is that the boot is almost to warm. I've found that for all day wear I need to wear a thin sock to stay comfortable.
I am interested in buying these boots for my husband who walks around outside all winter. Are these warm enough for all day winter weather or are they just an inside boot? Do you have a degree they are warm down to? Thanks so much!
Sorel's yes, but not these. You might try the Caribou from Sorel. It also depends on how cold it gets where you live. I'm in Utah and the caribou's work perfect! Plus they've lasted for 3 years now and have been used a ton.Hope that helps.
Great alternative to wearing street shoes/winter boots. Not bulky but wicked comfortable! Wear them all winter. Back Country is the best place to pick up these kicks!
These toasty little buggers have become my shoveling boots, pre and apres ski boots. Extremely easy to slip on/off. The Bota Bags are high in volume, normally I wear a 10.5. I probably could have sized down to a 10 but I don't mind the extra room.

... why on earth should you kick a wounded badger, either it be the animal or someone from Wisconsin?
