Snow Peak Titanium Cookware - 3pcs

The Snow Peak Titanium Cookware 3-piece set is the minimalist's cookset. Ultra light is the name of the game with this 3-piece modular set. The Snow Peak Titanium Cookware nests neatly with other Snow Peak products for convenient storage and packing. It includes a large pot, small pot, and a frying pan. Total stowed dimensions are 5.5" x 2.25", and it weighs 7.1oz, making it perfect for fast ‘n' light minimalists. A Snow Peak GigaPower stove fuel canister can be neatly stowed inside the smaller pot. Rounded edges actually make cleaning up a lot easier, as well.

Bottom Line: The Snow Peak Titanium Cookware 3-piece set is perfect for the ultra light minimalist who makes no compromises.

Nice set

It works..not crazy efficient but I use it for some of my homemade monster can stoves. the stove fits inside of it nicely and it cooks good enough. It's nice and light. The frying pan is really nice.

Nice light set

By:
September 12, 2007

Light and sturdier than I expected. As other reviewers have said, they are on the small side, the largest pot can hold 2 cups of water max. Great for making food for one person, get a larger pot in addition if you plan on cooking for more than one.

Hey ... I was wondering, does anyone out there have any decent backcountry recipes? I'm so sick of the freeze dried things.

The better quality ramens (the ones that come with real sauce and real soft noodles) are really good but do weigh a bit more. I found freeze dried strawberry cheese cake mix excellent (the ones graham crackers for topping) and I usually carry one can of SPAM, anchovies, oysters, crackers, a small bag of gummy bears, tortillas (i don't know why) and I'll take dry meat like jerkey or a salami roll and a new sealed thing of cheese cheddar marble cheese from the store. Those seem to last OK on a 5 day trek.

if yer gonna do ramens go to an asian grocery store and buy the good ones. They cost more but are still practically free, maybe 50-90 cents instead of 25 cents for top ramen or maruchan, they are way better. I like to do ramen and buy pouches of chicken or tuna at the grocery store to add in. works well if you are making a couple ramens (you and a friend) then split the pouch of protein. makes a decent dinner for about 2 bucks each person. Or when I am in the Boundary waters I just throw some fresh caught fish in the soup.

One of my new favorites is the Idahoan(?) quick packs instant potatoes. They are roughly 4oz for about 500 - 600 calories and come in a bunch of different flavors. To add to that all you have to do is slice up some sausage links and you are ready to go. Plus all you have to do to cook it is to add 1 1/2c. water. I do mine in a freezer bag ziploc. Real good and super cheap (1 - 1.50$)

Snow Peak Titanium Cookware - 3pcs

By:
November 27, 2007

These are the best pots and pans I have ever used. They are extremely light and durable. I've cooked more packs of Raman noodles and canned chicken in mine than I care to think about. Do be careful to not put them on the stove empty. You will burn the bottom of the pan. If you're going to cook something powdery, be sure to mix it with water before heating and use a few drops of oil to grease the pan. I use a Dobie Pad to clean mine, but you can use any plastic pad, just don't use steel wool. I store the pad in the pans with the Snowpeak Titanium cook stove. The handles get very hot when the stove is on, but if you wait 60 seconds or so after you turn the stove off, they are safe to touch.

good for solo cookware. The "frying pan" is tiny, so you'll probably only wanna cook for one. Very light with adequate room inside for a backpacker's stove or small can of fuel. TIP. Bring only the bigger bowl and pan.

Should be perfect. Just make sure you set the stove somewhere stable. And flat. *Hey Jason, That is the combo that I use, and it works great for me. The stove and a few other small gadgets fit inside the larger pot as well, to save some space.

Economical and light

By:
October 6, 2006

I used this set in combo with 2 different "Mini Bull Designs" alcohol stoves up to 10,000' elev as cold as 30 degrees. Each stove (Iso, MiniSith, and a homemade Pepsi can stove) worked well and I am glad I made the pot purchase. PROS: Affordable, lightweight, easy to clean, nestles well together, fast boil time. CONS: won't nestle with Trek 1400, lid doesn't fit tightly with handles out, handles can get hot, can be a little tippy. NOTE: I used a small cloth to quiet down any rattling the set made in my pack.

This is perfect if you are a minimilist camper and weight is a concern. We used with both open flame in a fire pit and with the camp stove and got the same results each time. Quick even heating. A good buy.

Good, But Caution

By:
December 1, 2008

I ordered this set for my ultralight gear set. The product description is exactly as described. Light weight, multiple pieces, and it is perfect for a single person setup. The only problem I had with it is how it fits on the MSR Dragonfly stove (and my friends MSR Whipser). Due to the small pot base size, the biggest pot barely fits on the MSR Dragonfly (about 1/2" on the three grills). The MSR whisper grills are further spread apart so the pot doesn't even fit due to its small size (according to my friend). I'll have to post a base pot width so you can measure before purchasing. Otherwise this would have been a great set to have.

use a ruler to check size before ordering

By:
July 20, 2009

three stars means "adequate for the job" according to the backcountry rating key. that's what this is.. adequate for one-person to warm boil some water and warm up small portions of grub. i disagree with the frying pan being really adequate for anything that isn't shaped like a mcdonalds burger patty in terms of size or thickness.. this kit is really, really small, the frying pan almost laughable, so make sure to break out a ruler and trace out the size of the kit before you order. it's really light, and very compact, but even as an ultralight-minded backpacker, this was too small for me to keep. sent it back to get somethign larger and more functional. your milage may vary..

The only thing I would advise against is the clean-up afterwards. Don't worry about the heat. Titanium can handle the hottest stoves which is much hotter than any campfire.

Wash DC

By:
December 9, 2004

Wash DC's Review: My comment on this cookware is more strategic. I think this set is very functional... serving people and cooking. I combined this with the snow peak fry pan set. The titanium is very expensive, but this set is a great price/value compared to the other set choices I've reviewed.

Not a bad product/money. Blackened with stove spray paint to absorb heat faster. Will be using on the AT. My only suggestion is place a well-known item next to item for sale to judge scale. I understand that this may not be possible due to stock photos, but this would add value for the purchaser.

Snow Peak Gear Rocks!

By:
February 20, 2006

I purchased this cookware set a couple of years ago not knowing how much I would love it and rely on it on all my trips. I love the fact you can store the fuel canister in one of the pots. You can leave on pot at home and just use the larger pot and lid for weight savings. I'm completely sold on snow peak gear. Nothing they make is less that first class!

Awesome!

By:
July 19, 2004

What a great package. This stuff is light without sacrificing durability. Water boils fast because of the efficient rounded bottoms and clean-up is no longer a chore.

I'm a little skeptical about cooking in winter, seeing how there is no tight-fitting lid, but I'm sure a few extra minutes (if that) won't hurt, eh?

Titanium cookware-3pcs

By:
June 16, 2005

This is a great set. It is ultralight and durable. This set is also very compact. It has the perfect liquid carrying capacities. Heats up very quickly, and gets hot, which is the only small drawback, if you can call that one. Very good value and I highly recommend it.

Lightweight, durable, fits together well. I would buy it again. Heats up and cools back down quickly - not good for keeping things hot unless kept over flame. Hard to remove burned-on material.

Decent Stove

By:
June 19, 2006

Against my better judgment I bought these sight unseen. They conduct heat well and evenly in my experience. Make sure the handles are folded out before you put them on fire as they will get a tad too hot to touch with just skin. The only downside is they are on the small side. I would recommend maybe this and then go get one more pot that’s 50-100% bigger than the big one in this set for car camping/short hikes in. Again, my fault, not Snow Peak's. If you want a small set for boiling water or solo or maybe 2 people meals these should suit you, they nest nicely and my stove fits inside the smaller one.

good product, my oversight

By:
September 18, 2006

The set is sturdy and lightweight, and the handles tuck conveniently into the form. The only problem is--unless you have a bird stomach, you won't get full from what you can boil in the tiny pot. I didn't look at the cookware water capacity, and so I can't fault the manufacturer for the size. I don't see how a person with an average appetite or above can find this useful, though.

wonderul solo set

By:
October 29, 2008

The set is very lightweight, super durable, and wipes clean with a little warm water. The only complaint I've had is I have to scramble one egg at a time on the small frying pan so if you're wanting to do more than that maybe invest in a separate frying pan but the two pots are wonderful for everything.

Save Money

By:
February 25, 2008

This set is great. If you want to keep your pack weight down, buy this set and use them for cooking as well as eating from. Don't waste money buying the larger titanium cookware pieces. There's enough room inside this set to keep some dehydrated food too. I personally use it to keep about 2-3 packets of oatmeal for emergencies. This set is so light, the food I keep in it seems to weigh more than the 3 parts.

Perfect Cookset

By: Backcountry.com Employee
September 30, 2008

This is the perfect cook set for long-distance backcountry trips. It is extremely light, sturdy, compact and easy to clean. If you are cooking anything more complex than freeze dried or "just add water" meals, you might want something a little bigger though. I'm usually a lone wolf and packing light though, so this set works out perfectly for my needs. No complaints.
