Snow Peak GigaPower Micro Max Stove - Titanium

Want to lower pack weight without sacrificing cooking power? A super light weight (3.3 oz) and 11,000 BTU output make the Snow Peak GigaPower Micro Max Stove a top performer. The Micro Max's three arm supports offer exceptional wind resistance by separating the burner head into three parts—if one section blows out, the other sections continue to burn. The arm supports work with everything from small titanium mugs on solo trips to large heavy pots, thanks to a unique vertically folding design that opens into two different lengths. The high BTU output of this Snow Peak stove makes for quick boil times of just under four minutes.

Bottom Line: Pack the Snow Peak GigaPower Micro Max Titanium Stove when you want to go light without sacrificing power or versatility.

I noticed that this stoves burns 22 minutes with the small 110g cannister. I also noticed that the Titanium Gigapower burns 45 minutes with the same cannister. Is this accurate or does anybody have any testing or experience to know if this is correct? I

This is a very subjective question where the difference is mainly due to elevation, temperature, & wind conditions. For instance @ higher elevations I use 9 to 13 grams of fuel per usage for 16 oz. of water. Four ounces of fuel is equal to 113 grams, or the 110 canister. So for me I can get between 9 & 13 uses from one 4 oz. canister. If you use your stove four times a day, a 4 oz. canister will last approximately 2.5 to 3.5 days max. I hope this helps.

this thing just keeps going and going. In most any condition, it will start up first try for you. Small and light and typically burns a fair amount longer on a single canister than the tech specs would lead you to believe.

How does this compare to the Giga Power? I know it's new, but it seems like the few minor flaws of the giga have been debugged in the micro max. Am I right?

The most important difference is heat output. The Giga Stove is rated @ 10,000 BTU's & the Micro Max is 11,200. I'm not aware of any minor flaws in the Giga Stove. I do know that the new LiteMax is a combination of the two. It's lighter than both & develops 11,200 BTU's. It does not, however, have an auto igniter. http://www.backcountry.com/store/SNO0041/Snow-Peak-LiteMax-Stove.html
