Smith Fuse Goggle

Thanks to unique graphics on the frame and strap, and a non-distorting lens, the Smith Fuse Goggles give you stand-out style and an accurate view of the slopes. The Fuse Goggles' frame has an angular look and fits medium-size faces. Open the front vents and prevent fogging on your hardcore hikes in the backcountry or as you work up a sweat on the hill. Smith connected the goggle strap to the frame with a lever, so the strap creates a secure, comfortable fit whether you're wearing a helmet or just a ski hat. See the sizing chart to find info on the lens tints.

Bottom Line: Medium fit, maximum style.

Decent goggles

I can't say that these have been the best goggle ever, but the medium size fits my face and I have no peripheral issues, I see as much as I need to while skiing.
I am getting fogging issues now but they are over a 100 days old.

From what i'm reading the sensor lens is good for overcast or flat days...What lens is good for bright and sunny days?

The sensor lens is my favorite on overcast days when you don't see the sun. For bright sunny days I prefer either the platinum mirror or ignitor mirror. The ignitor mirror lens is great for days when the sun pops in and out of the clouds, choice all around lens...

the fuse

the sensor is the best all around lens you can buy. great for low and flat light conditions, and unless you are skiing on the surface of the sun they will work for bright days.

a staple

By:
May 16, 2009

this is my second pair of these goggles. The vents are great for keeping the fogging down and staying cool. They work well going over a helmet, and i have a big head. They offer pretty good peripheral vision. They just are a goggle that i know are good.

Great budget goggle

By:
January 5, 2009

On a budget and looking for a great goggle. Go for the Fuse. Although it doesn't have a spherical lens, you get a great field of vision. The fit is great on these as well for someone with a small to medium size face. Smith has the best ventilation system on the market, and they use this system in their high end goggles and in these as well. These things are pretty stylish too and have great strap/frame graphics.

Foggy like grandpa's memory

By:
January 8, 2009

So yeah, the field of view is great considering they aren't spherical. And the Sensor lens is great for flat and low light. I have an older pair with the red mirrored lens which have worked well on blue bird days. But ugh, they fog much quicker than any of my A frames and it just annoys me that a helmet helper has to be used if you happen to wear a helmet larger than a small.

Dude, nobody is gonna care too much if you're stoned on the hill, saying that though make sure you are careful and not crashing into people or hurting yourself...and it's near impossible to check a chica's bod out when shes in all those layers of clothes so nobody is gonna notice where them lookers are looking anyway.

Like them!

By:
March 16, 2009

Got them for a steal on Tramdock! (White/Ignitor) Have worn them a few times on Sunny days and they work great. Extra yellow lens was included, which is a big plus for low light days, but luckily haven't had to use it yet. No trouble with fogging or anything like that...fogging is usually due to operator error IMHO (i.e. wearing a facemask and breathing into the goggle, or otherwise getting the inside of the lens wet). Fits well with my helmet.

Probably. The ignitor isn't all that dark. If you use it in bright sunlight your eyes will most likely be visible. On the other hand, it's intended for flat light, so if you stick to that, then you can creep to your heart's content.

These goggles are great for the price

By:
April 23, 2009

I bought a pair of these goggles four years ago and loved them for the price. This year the foam started pealing off the frames. I sent them into smiths warhouse and got a free replacement. When the vents are closed i can't even tell, they are so hard to fog. These are great goggles!

No fog= no suprise faceplants

By:
February 22, 2009

Great goggles, fit well with my Red helmet or with just a beanie. So far no fog issues, even on warm, sweaty days on the hill. Ignitor (rose) lens works well in various conditions, the gold lens is ok, not really worth the hassle of changing lenses. The adjustable venting actually works, and works well to shut out the cold on a 5 degree windy day or keep you cool on warmer days.

The best goggles I have had.... both mine and my husbands' were great! It's like we didnt even have them on. IT was so bright and sunny and you were blinded by the snow without them. No issues what so ever.... never steamed up, kept the cold out... couldnt ask for better goggles.

No Fog

By:
November 21, 2008

I have the Fuse and the Phenom Smith goggles. The fit is great, but the most important feature is the fact that they don't fog. There is a nice variety of lens options as well. They work well with a hat or helmet and the strap extender is a nice feature if you use a helmet.

Ehhh

By:
December 17, 2008

I really like Smith products and these goggles look nice and the lens is pretty crisp for vision - you also get a yellow replacement lens. The reason I give them 3 stars is fogging. Most of the time they don't fog, but if you ski a lot like I do put your goggles up on your hat when in the lift line, ect they will eventually fog. They only fog in small patches but the fog collects between the two lenses so there is not way to wipe it off or get rid of it! This is a real pain on snowy days when you need goggles to shield the snow and yet can't see so well. I am returning mine soon for a different pair.

There is nothing to complain about this is a great goggle for the price. You get the same mirror as high priced flat lensed goggles. There is NO FOG at all.
