Wool is the best way to go. These socks are durable, warm, well padded, and are really comfortable in my ski boots. They wear well and don't shown many signs of breaking down from overuse or washing machine abuse.

Smartwool are the only ski socks I will use. I'm always grabbing them up when I find them on sale (which is not very often up her in Calgary). Me likey!!!

I don't ski, but use these socks with my boots when I ride my motorcycle. They feel good and cushion my feet while sitting in the saddle on long distant rides. Wish I had some years ago!
