SmartWool PhD Outdoor Light Mini Sock - Women's

The Smartwool Women's PhD Outdoor Light Mini Sock has an advanced degree in wooly comfort to help you excel at hiking or trail running. Smartwool outfitted this brainy sock with mesh zones on the top of the foot for venting and bands around the arch and instep for a snug fit. Then Smartwool added an additional layer of wool on high-impact zones for enhanced durability and to make the sock a bit more sustainable—more wool equals less nylon.

Bottom Line: Take this smart sock for a trail run or hike in warm weather.

Smartwool is the Only Sock for Me

By:
June 14, 2009

I don't buy any other sock now. Doesn't seem to matter what "model" I buy - they're all excellent. I was buying mediums as I wear a European 41, but that's right between medium and large. As I like them fluffy from the dryer, I tried large and they work a bit better. So if you're between sizes, try the larger and then dry in a hot dryer. Thanks Backcountry, for making these great socks available at a price we can afford. pbs
