SmartWool Midweight Boot Top Bottom - Men's

The SmartWool Men's Midweight Boot Top Bottom forges peace between your base layer, socks, and boots. End the bunch-up junk show and opt for these merino not-so-long johns. These odor-fighting, non-chafing, softer-than-your-baby-blanket bottoms come in handy for anything from skiing to cold-weather climbing. SmartWool's merino wool wicks better than polypro and stays warm even when wet. The Midweight Boot Top Bottoms feature a regular fly design, flat-locked seams, and a covered elastic waist band.

Bottom Line: The SmartWool Midweight Boot Top Bottoms—your lower legs will thank you.

Worked great for my husband on this ski trip (underneath unlined GoreTex pants). A bit tight in the calves area compared to the rest.

Hi. What size should I go if I'am 35-36" in waist. I read many reviews on the net about Smartwool baselayers and some people say that after washing, they get shrinked! Thanks!

Large should be right. They only shrink a tiny bit and stretch right back. If you like your base layer to be loose go with XL.

Comfortable, non-stink, and does not restrict movement. Way better than any synthetic I've ever used... keeps you drier, warmer, and doesn't stink as much. I use these as my general snowboard baselayer, as well as when I'm cold at work or running. Super versatile and well worth the cash if you have it.

Even with the hefty price tag, if you are in a position to use base layers often, you will actually SAVE money as you will not need to wash these as often thanks to Merino wool's inherent antibacterial nature. A lot of synthetics have something similar, but it will wash out eventually. With these, it's a part of the fiber and will last for the life of the garment.

You're on the border. Med if you want a snug fit, large if you want 'em loose. I'd lean towards the med.

PERFECT!!!

Just got back from a winter camping trip in northern CT, and these pants were perfect! Temperatures at night dropped to 27 degrees, and with just shell pants over them I was comfortable. Very comfortable as well, great waistband and very soft feel. Temperature regulation was superb (from strenuous hiking and gear laden ascents and descents to peeing in the snow at night). Stink control is phenomenal, just washed them after a few weeks of wearing almost everyday, and they still didn't smell. Highly recommend, buy some now (better than capilene)
