SmartWool Microweight Bottom - Men's - 2007

Wear the SmartWool Men's Microweight Bottom for temperate or warm-weather aerobic activities or as a next-to-skin base layer. Sweat cools you through evaporation. SmartWool's porous natural fibers move moisture in vapor form, creating a dry layer of air around your body that encourages evaporative cooling; you stay drier and more comfortable throughout your entire workout. By comparison, synthetics transport moisture in liquid form, wicking sweat before it evaporates, which means your skin never directly benefits from evaporative cooling. SmartWool fiber is also highly adaptable to a broad range of conditions; it keeps you warm in winter and cool in spring. This naturally anti-microbial pant features a covered elastic waistband, chafe-reducing flatlock seams, and a body-hugging fit.

Bottom Line: It might be Microweight, but it's big on performance.

Very comfy

Got these on SAC at a killer price. Have used at least 30x (cycling, snowboarding) and they are showing very little wear. Fit true to size. I'm 6'1" and the large fits perfect. There is some stretch so they will accommodate several body types. Very little shrinkage in the wash (hang to dry). Great as a base layer on cool days for high output activities.

I love these wool bottoms, smartwool did a great job of keeping them simple. The best ones I've had.

What's the difference in weight between the SmartWool Lightweght

What's the difference in weight between the SmartWool Lightweght and Microweight bottoms?

The microweight are good as a warm or cool weather base layer. Not very thick fabric but they breath and handle moisture great. The lightweight is what i wear for snowboarding. Not quite midweight but definately more than the micro. If you want something versatile for winter i'd go with the lightweight. But you can't go wrong either way as far as quality and comfort goes.

must have for cold days!

I wore them under a pair of North Face insulated pants while staying over at the Ice Hotel in Quebec City and also for 2 days in the city where the lows were in the teens and my legs were warm and comfortable. They are so soft and not itchy at all. Very lightweight. I will always wear them on cold days.

Keeps me warm!

I've used these twice now, and they're great. I never felt cold at all, even after being out all day in about 10 degree weather. They also did a great job keeping me dry, and don't smell at all. Definitely a great purchase.
