SmartWool Cable Sock - Women's

The SmartWool Women's Cable Sock are a treat for your feet, whether you wear them to work, school, or kick back on the couch in them. These luxuriously soft socks with smooth toe seams and a hint of cushioning are so comfy, you won't want to take them off. Since wool stays relatively odor-free, you don't have to take them off—for a few days, at least.

Bottom Line: Work, play, or lounge in the cozy SmartWool Cable Sock.

not the best sock, but okay

By:

I love SmartWool socks, in general, but these don't really seem the same. They are okay, but they pill up terribly in the wash, and don't seem to breathe as well as other SmartWools I own. As usual, though they fit well and are comfortable. They seem like they will last, too.

Smartwool's great, but these aren't...

By:

I love Smartwool socks and have been wearing their hiking socks for years. I also like the Saturn stripe stocks. Since I like Smartwool so much, I thought I'd give these Cable socks a try for the office. Well I was very disappointed. They actually feel rough, fit poorly, and are slightly scratchy. I will probably go ahead and wear them, since I would feel stupid returning socks I've worn, but I definitely won't buy any more of them.

The warmest sock isn't the thinnest and vice versa. If you want warm and thin, look for something in merino wool.

Comfy socks, but beware of color.

By:
December 14, 2007

I purchased these for my wife. She has said that these socks are very comfortable and warm, but the color we received doesn't look anything like what you're seeing here. I purchased the Earth Heather and it looks closer to Mud Grey. Ha-ha! And no, we did not mistakenly receive the Black. Even the label said Earth Heather. Bottom line: If you're not too picky about color, you might like these comfy and wam socks.

Best socks ever!

By:

My husband and I LOVE Smartwools! We were first introduced to them at a local shoe store, but their selection of women's socks left much to be desired. So, I went searching on the web and Backcountry helped me stock up! I'm a teacher and I always have cold feet, must have been that frostbite when I was a teen. Smartwools keep my feet toasty and warm, with no sweating! Even with clogs, my feet are warm. My first pairs are a few years old, and look as good as my new ones. Just don't dry them for too long or on too high a heat in the dryer, or you'll cook the elastic. I dry mine on low for about 10 minutes, then I hang them to finish drying.

Love Smartwool Cable Socks

By:

I'm a huge fan of Smartwool socks. I am always cold & wool is an absolute must to keep warm. Since I wear them everyday, it is nice to have socks that are lightweight and warm. No extra bulk in the shoes - just warm, dry, comfy feet. I don't know what I'd do without them! Definitely recommend. I purchased the black this time around & have had no issues with color fading.

Fantastic dress socks

By:
December 1, 2008

I bought these socks in black and oatmeal heather, and they are WONDERFUL! I wear them to the office with wool pants and dress loafers when it's cold. They are sooooo much better than cotton! Not only do they keep your feet warm, but they wash like a dream and don't lose their color. They also work well with khaki pants and clogs when I'm dressing "nice casual."

My only complaint is that the shade of the heathered colors is not consistent. One pair in oatmeal heather can be just right; another can be muddy-looking, with too many grayish threads. However, this does not detract from the comfort and value of the socks. They are truly fantastic.

so-so

I purchased these as a gift after trying several pairs of Smartwool's casual socks (I love the striped ones) and was a bit disappointed. I loved the color (green), but they just didn't feel soft and comfy like I'd hoped. Hopefully they are better for the recipient after a wash and a wear.
