The SmartWool Adrenaline Light Micro Socks are versatile and cushioned to give your feet a treat during high impact activities. These are your go anywhere, do anything socks. Whether you're snowshoeing or mountain biking, Smartwool has your foot's best interest in mind. The SmartWool SmartFit System features a contour flex zone that prevents bunching, and arch and ankle braces support your feet where they most need it. Insulating air pockets within each fiber keep your pups warm in snowy weather and cool in the dead of summer. These socks are made to be itchless and odor-free.
Bottom Line: The Adrenaline Light Micro is great for any sport. It could be the only sock you need.
I have worn through literally thousands of pair of cycling socks both for cycling and running and these are the best no-show socks I've ever gotten my hands on. They have perfect support over the entire foot, don't rub funny anywhere on the foot and keep your feet cool enough to run 5 or 6 hours! They have just the right amount of cushion for a comfy run! I'd recommend these to every runner!
I took one pair on a 8 day, 160 km canoe trip that had 61 portages (yes, more like a hiking trip with a canoe on your back!) and these things stood up to the carnage. Mud, beaver crap, silt, sand... you name it, it was ground into every fibre in the sock. The light grey colour never fully came back, and the socks do feel a bit rougher than the ones I've cared for (just slightly), but zero seams blew out and they didn't stretch one bit. They took care of my feet. My other socks are 2 years old, used 2 times/week and aren't even close to their half life. Go buy them.
These are the most comfortable socks that I have ever worn. I use them to work out and they are fantastic. They dry quickly and keep my feet warm and dry!
some have complained that this sock didn't keep them warm. Good, because they are a warm weather sock and are supposed to keep you cool. Wool is more breathable, and moisture wicking than any fabric made, even synthetics. Read "light" in their description, that means they are THIN. I use these for my summer socks: running, mountain biking, just walking out and about. My best testament to these socks is that after even my most intense workouts at the gym, I pull these off and only feel a trace of moisture. I thought I was hallucinating because my old synthetic socks were always soaking wet.
These socks are Great, and I was just thinking that I needed to order another pair. I run and bike a lot and SmartWool are quickly becoming my favorites - buy them!
Very nice that the socks come in various sizes for a great fit. Tab on the back needs to be a little different. It catches dirt and looks a little wierd. But other than that, they are Smartwools and they are the best socks out there I have found.
I have used this sock extensively for hiking, trail running and ultra-marathon in Hawaii. While expensive, each pair lasts at least one year, and usually longer.
I own many styles of smartwool socks, but I have to say these are my favorite. I generally prefer the low cut socks in the first place, but in the past I couldn't wear them with my hiking shoes as they would either fall down or the back of the shoe would rub on my Achilles. The little pad on the back of these socks keeps them up and prevents the rubbing. Plus, with the perfect distribution of stretch and support, you can't find a better sock. If you like short socks, I highly recommend these!
I wear these running in any kind of weather. I hate wearing socks that show above my low cut running shoe. It almost looks like you're running sockless. When you first put them on, it feels like a massage.
For some $13.95 may sound like a lot for a pair of socks but these aren't your traditional gym socks. I've put them through the ringer year in/year out, when trail running these socks keep my feet warm in winter and cool in summer, these socks have prevent many blisters allowing more time to enjoy my surroundings and less time worrying about my feet. Happy FEET
i liked this sock, it is a little heavier than it's ultralite cousin, but has a lot more padding around sensitive areas. i use it to play bball in, as well as hike and run. haven't noticed my foot overheating or anything. so if you want something a little more padded than the ultralite, get this sock, you'll love it
I must own 50 pairs of SmartWool socks. I ordered two pairs of these and kept them both. They are just the right weight, with just a little bit of padding on the sole. I do not like much padding, but again, they're just right. I do not wear them in the middle of the summer, but would consider them more of a shoulder season active sock. Hey, reviewer jprince, get ya some mid- or expedition weight hikers for cold weather - I recommend both!
My designated running and trail sock. Great wicking, all-day comfort, and good job on antimicrobial properties of the wool. Fit is true to size. If you sweat a ton, stop wasting your money on other brands; man (or woman) up and buy the quality. You won't regret it.
These socks rock! I have 4 pairs and use them for everything. Hiking, running, pickup soccer games, etc. They do pack out a little and lose their cushion after a few months, but they are still durable even after that and still perform well.
Great socks for a variety of uses-everyday wear, running and hiking. Not itchy at all and quite warm. They also don't get holes very easily which is a plus!
I bought three pairs based on the reviews here and I'm not at all disappointed. Got me through my first Yosemite hike when we bit off a 15 mile round trip from Glacier Point to the Valley Floor in one day. Granted, I still got a couple small blisters, but probably had to do with my choice in wearing a trail running shoe instead of a hiking shoe (newbie error). Work well for my everyday runs and feel amazing!
I thought 13 dollars for a pair of athletic socks was ridiculous but I have been using smart wool hikers for years in the military and after many miles of marching I thought why not try these for my running. Skeptical, I put them on and they felt great! Cushioned in all the right places and comfortable mile after mile! Best thing though is with wool my feet are as cool and dry as can be. I came back and bought another 3 pairs! One for every day I run.
These socks are great and if the quality of my hikers is any indication these will outlast any other running sock and more than make up for the price!
I had a few pairs of these socks already, but they are so great, I had to get more. In short, these socks are great for various temperatures. They really do a great job regulating heat to keep feet cool, but not too cool.
i purchased these socks for general use - just a day to day sock for backpacking, traveling, lifting weights, running, ultimate, etc. etc. despite their high price - the material is incredibly comfortable, lightweight, and breathable. your feet won't stay wet, even if you're used to your cotton socks getting drenched in sweat.
I can't imagine a better sock. I've worn nothing but these Smartwools for 5 years and a few pair are still going strong. I work in them, trail run in them, play tennis, basketball, squash, racquetball in them. Super comfy and durable. You will not be disappointed in this quality product.
These socks are awesome. Right fit, padding, shape, etc. I have used them to run in the heat of the summer no problem and expect they will do just as well in the winter time. Good moisture control and transport. No stench. Soft and comfortable. That addition to the heel just keeps them from slipping down. I don't really notice it after I put them on. I'm not taking a star away for this because its just the nature of the beast when you buy wool-ideally these should be hand washed. Don't throw them in the washer with everything else and you will love the socks!
I have been wearing smartwool socks while hiking for years now and I can't say enough good things about how great they are. The always fit and stay put, as in never having the heel of your sock sliding into your shoe (hate that) they are always dry no matter how hot my feet get while hiking. Great buy you won't regret buying these and will most likely get addicted to wering them on all adventures.
These socks rock. I will never spend ridiculous amounts of money again for technical socks full of materials I can't even pronounce. Wool is the way to go! I own a few pairs of SmartWool socks for warmth & comfort so I didn't know about if they could make a light micro sock, but I trusted all the reviews and I am BEYOND pleased with my purchase. You will not be disappointed. Last week I hiked Pikes Peak in Colorado from the Crags (12 miles round trip) and I only had to put ONE piece of moleskin on my foot due to an old blister from previous training when I was breaking in my new hiking boots. This is UNHEARD of while hiking a fourteener. I had ZERO new blisters at the end of 6 hours of intense hiking. These socks ROCK. I hiked Mt Evans, CO last year wearing mediocre hiking socks & I finished with blisters & feet full of moleskin, talk about uncomfortable. I am a believer & I will be purchasing many more of these perfect socks for everyday walking, biking & training. Side note - the socks will only work if your hiking boots have been properly broken in.
Great socks... I have had to use these socks three days in a row in Florida. After all the sweating my feet were still comfortable and they didn't smell.
Reading the countless amazing reviews on these socks convinced me to buy a pair. When they arrived, I tried them out and found them to be very comfortable. However, my feet themselves didn't stay as dry as I wold have hoped. They were still a little cold and damp when I took them off...
These socks are great as myself and my husband have had many pairs. These 2 pairs we bought for my husband. We were looking for running socks, these will be fine for fall running, not summer. They are a mid-weight.
... and I didn't know just how warm it could get until a few miles in to a trail run. If I had a pair of synth socks I would have changed into them. You would think by way of these being ankle socks that they were geared towards warmer weather. They're not. At least not running in the upper 70's/lower 80's. Other than the fact that I'm using them out of season, and there will be a perfect season for these, which is a cooler one, I love the socks. They feel GREAT on the feet, maintaining that new sock feel (podia-gasmic) with each wear. They are odorless other than the smell of elastic, i wore them three sweaty runs before washing them and no stench whatsoever. Wool rocks for that. The lip at the back of the ankle on the top of the sock does lend a ledge for dirt, twigs, etc, to land on but unless I wear gaiters I get stuff in my socks no matter what, so it's not that big of a deal. I recently bought a pair of Ultimax X-static (silver embedded stuff) and have been extremely pleased with the results for warm weather. They are light, cool and RESIST odor JUST as well as wool (yes, a synthetic, not just making claims like Cocona). Check 'em out. I love Smartwool socks but these will probably relegated to much lighter wear and cooler weather.
I try to wear these socks daily as I walk 5 miles delivering mail...the sock fits my foot perfectly but eventually moves around on my foot..the elastic on all 5 pairs I purchased does not hold the sock on the ankle, it slides down and around. The socks ARE the correct size, just not enough elastic at the ankle. Very frustrating, I keep my runnning shoes tight to deal with this. If I wear them in open heeled slippers(crocs) they slide around my foot and drive me nuts. They are soft and comfortable when they stay on my feet.
Great socks! Bought them for my husband and he wore them with a new pair of hiking shoes on a 3-mile hike; no blisters!!! His feet stayed dry, too. He also liked that they were lightweight and odor-resistant.
These socks are about all I wear now. From day-to-day casual wear to long, hot summer hikes, these always keep my feet cool and comfortable. And the little tabs at the back keep my shoes from swallowing the socks.
If you wear no show socks, then you MUST own a few pairs of these guys. They're unbelievably comfy and durable. They do a great job keeping my feet cool when I'm out hiking, running, walking, bungy jumping... whatever! I wear them all the time now, no matter what I'm doing or where I'm going. And if I go hiking I make certain that I'm wearing some Adrenaline Light Micro Socks. There's no reason to wear plain old regular socks anymore. Once you try out some of these, you'll know what I'm talking about.
This is a comfortable sock, but not ideal for the trail. The lip in the back of the sock tends to catch debris and it ends up getting into your sock. Maybe good for the track, but who wants to do that?
I really had high hopes for these socks. All the talk about keeping my feet warm made me think I'd found just what I was looking for. I've tried the socks on several occasions in what I would consider reasonably chilly weather (20-30 F). I gave them several chances because I just refused to believe that my feet were still cold. I have finally had to admit defeat on this and will be looking for another option. This just simply do not keep my feet warm. I did enjoy running in them in warmer temps however as they were very comfortable.
These are some good ass socks. I bought 4 pairs. Probably need 2 more. When you first put them on, its like a massage. I run with them in wet, dry, hot or cold weather.
