Ski Trab DUO Sint Aero Ski

Look at those curves! Featuring Ski Trab's carbon fiber and aramid honeycomb core construction, the DUO Sint Aero ski has an exceptionally lively and responsive ride for an extremely light package. Elastomer-lined 100 CR6 microcrystalline edges produce superior edge hold while delivering a smooth ride. The high molecular density race base improves glide and resists rock damage. The Duo design increases the tip surface area for better float and easier trail breaking, it also integrates with the skin connection to facilitate easier transitions.

Bottom Line: Lose some weight.

The Ultimate Lightweight Backcountry Ski

By:
August 29, 2009

This ski is absolutely perfect for late spring and early summer skiing: the weight of a skinny rando race ski, but ideal performance for spring corn, and reasonable enough performance for unexpected unconsolidated snow . . . whether the mushy stuff lower down on big volcanoes or some unexpected powder as shown in the attached pic (Snowdome on Hood, Memorial Day Weekend 2008).
The skin attachment system works very well: super quick to get on-off, very secure, and offers the option of peeling back the skin from either the tip or the tail. Or you can even just make your own, as shown here:

Soon to be skiing in powder, directly above a smoking volcanic crater.

Great ski!

By:
February 27, 2009

I bought these for rando racing ski-mountaineering and they're great for both. Incredibly stable for how little they are. They shine on steep, icy, descents when you need the edge to bite and hold. The skin system is smart and holds well. Kind of a specialized ski but if you want to fly uphill in a weekend race or you want to feel confident on those first few turns in a steep, icy, couloir....these are great.
