Six Six One Back Guard

If you're gonna ride your gravity-fueled bike like it's meant to be ridden, the Six Six One Back Guard has your back in case of a nasty fall. This critical piece of body armor gives you articulated protection along your spine to decrease the chance of a season-ending injury when you're ejected from your bike on a gnarly section of trail. Injection-molded plastic armor panels give you a durable barrier between your back and the ground. This back guard features a wide adjustable hook-and-loop closure belt and shoulder straps to give you a snug, secure fit similar to a pressure suit without horribly impeding your mobility on your downhill or freeride bike.

Bottom Line: Better safe than sorry. Wear the Six Six One Back Guard.

Low Profile fit

So, I rock the Back guard when I'm skiing big lines and dropping big cliffs. There are a few features that make this piece of gear pretty good, but then there is a bit that it leaves to be desired.Pros: Light weight, Easy to attach to pack for touring, and quick to put on at the top, saved my back many times, it drops down low enough to protect even my tail bone.Cons: Uncomfortable velcro strap system (especially for girls), rides up a little, and would like a little bit more kidney protection.I own both an impact jacket and this back protector and I find myself using the back protector more because of it's low profile.
