Torn by toetally tight boots

By:
December 31, 2008

I have been debating for days on whether or not to return these boots. They are an 8.5, which is my size, but they are quite difficult to get on. And, once on, they are very snug. If you plan on ordering these boots I recommend getting them at least a size larger. I have very narrow feet and they are still tight, so if you have wide feet I wouldn't recommend these boots.

Tight--

By:
December 1, 2008

So this boot is great! It fits over pants, jeans, leggings, etc. However.... It is VERY VERY TIGHT to pull on initially. I have convinced myself to keep wearing it and it will stretch out and it has, but it is tight in the heal to get on and on the top of the foot. Its ok though, cause I have wider feet so that may be why its a little more snug. Otherwise my only complaint is the tightness to pull on. It isn't a shoe you would be taking on and off all the time. Just put it on, look hot, and stretch it out. It gets better.

But not a Canadian winter...

By:

Note that the felt is on the tongue and as a decorative top only. There is no lining in the rest of the boot. As someone who walks everywhere in the coldest capital city in the world through slush, snow & ice, these boots weren't even worth wearing outside once, despite their cool look.

great for pretend winter

These are cute. Very cute. Full marks on attractiveness. They are not, however, the stylish vegan's answer to serious winter. The wool-looking lining you can see poking out of the top? Yeah, that's all it does: poke out of the top. It does not line the boot, it only extends about an inch down from the top. Other than that, all that's between you and snow is thick canvas. These feel much more like snug comfy slippers than boots. They keep the snow out (but not snow melt, not the cold) and look good. That's all. If you've got a real man's job for a real man's boot (but happen to be a woman, wanting some women's boots) check out something bigger with leather. I guarantee you'll be happier with them.

They are NOT warm boots at all. It is just canvas material without any insulation. They are really cute but the only winter they might be suitable for is SoCal Winter.Should be called Spring OR mild autumn boots ;-)

Super cute boots

By:
April 28, 2009

These boots are super cute. They are tough to get on, as others have mentioned, but once they are on, they are quite comfortable. They are just what I was looking for, a fun, casual boot that is comfortable to walk in and looks good. I ordered them after the cold weather, but I wouldn't think that they would be great for the winter and snow.

happy but not what i expected

By:
January 7, 2009

So SO cute, but the wool is really for aesthetics not warmth. They did amazingly keep my feet dry while in a foot of snow though. Definitely do not think about wearing these things through airport security! I only wish Simple would start making shoes for people with arches. Still happy that I've got them.

By:
December 1, 2008

Strangely Tight

By:
December 21, 2008

I first bought these boots in a 6.5, my normal size. Unfortunately, while the sole of the shoe matched up to my foot as it should, I could barely get them on! I tried and tried to pull them on (the heel is too tight to allow your foot to get in) and when I did manage to get them on (with the aid of a sought after shoe horn), the top was pressing down on my foot so hard, I yanked them off quickly. They're so adorable so I exchanged them for a size larger, 7.5, in hopes that maybe they just ran small. Nope. I received them the other day, put them on easily but I can't even walk in them, they are so large. So now I'm returning those as well. So be wary. They're cute but a pain in the butt.

Simple Toetally Winter Boot - Women's. Tight but fun

By: Backcountry.com Employee
December 23, 2008

The Simple Toetally Winter Boot does come a little bit tight, its canvas material so it doesn't stretch a ton. If you have a wide foot or an extra high arch, it can be uncomfortable and you might consider sizing up. However even in saying that it's a really fun around the town boot. It won't offer a ton as far as warmth or waterproofing goes, but with a pair of skinny jeans or a casual skirt it's great.
