Reduce your emissions—lace up your Simple Men's EcoS Shoes and skate downtown instead of driving. These sneakers feature hemp uppers and organic cotton liners. Hemp grows like a weed and creates a durable, abrasion-resistant fabric. Organic cotton breathes and feels soft. Recycled bike tires make up the EcoS Shoes' sidewalls, and recycled car tire outsoles grip your skateboard and the ground. Simple made the laces from recycled plastic bottles.
Bottom Line: Wear the Simple EcoS sneaks, and help de-trash the planet.
Definitely a great pair of shoes. They are comfy as all get up, easily can stand most of the day in them, but they don't have the best bottom cushioning. They start to smell and hold that smell for a while if you decide to wear no socks, which I learnt the hard way. The reused tire has a surprising amount of grip on slippery pavement, or wet downhill sections on local trails. Not a very good shoe for a trail, but they work for parks and stuff. The inside of the heel has started to blow, after 4 months of solid everyday use. This is a place that always blows out on every shoe I have ever owned, so it wasn't surprising, and has held up just as well as or better than most other shoes I have worn. The bike tire keeps out shallow puddles, and looks cool. And really, who doesn't want to be a hippie at least sometimes.
I've had them a month and use them every day. So far they seem to be holding up very well and I see no signs of wear. Sadly, they have little cushioning on the sole but I remedied it by adding my insole out of my old shoe! Reduce, REUSE and recycle. Also of note is they seem to be water resistant because I walk through wet grass in the morning and my toes have never gotten wet. And the bike tire going around is about an inch high so you can walk in shallow puddles without water coming in. I live in Florida but my feet have never felt hot or sweaty in these! They are very breathable. Few shoes can say that. Overall, I like them but their main attribute is that they are recycled and partly organic and compostable.
I've been looking for hemp shoes like these for the last two years. 100% Vegan, Recycled bike and car tire soles, recycled plastic bottle fiber shoe laces, sturdy, long lasting, and very comfortable.
Kool shoes. They feel pretty good right out of the box. They run a little narrow, but it feels like they will probably stretch into a very comfy shoe. I love the recycled tire soles and the smell is even better. Be forewarned though, whatever tires these soles used to be they are balder, then bald. Be careful because this shoe is the opposite of traction, but so what? I didn't by these shoes to scale an exposed ridge line.
my mom really likes em. I like em. they look good, look like they will wear fairly well too. they fit larger than most size 9s though, going down half a size wouldnt be a bad move for those of us used to buying shoes online wihtout, obviously, trying them on.
