Sierra Designs Trade Wind Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

The Outside Magazine “Gear of the Year” award-winning Sierra Designs Men's Trade Wind 15 Degree Down Sleeping Bag makes cold nights comfortable with its 600-fill down and DriZone waterproof breathable fabric. The Trade Wind Sleeping Bag keeps you toasty in all but the coldest weather. Sierra Designs used continuous-baffle construction to keep the 600-fill down locked in place no matter how much you squirm at night. Your warmth stays locked in thanks to the draft tube along the zipper.

Bottom Line: Forget the midnight shivers when you crawl into the Sierra Designs Men's Trade Wind 15 Degree Sleeping Bag.

I typically use an external frame pack and put my back on the bottom outside. Is the stuff sack water resistant/proof? or should you invest in a waterproof stuff sack to go with this?

This sleeping bag uses an extremely water resistant stuff sack that will keep your bag dry under most conditions. If it should happen to rain hard enough, your pack cover will act as an extra barrier. No need to invest in another stuff sack.

Great Bag

I have an SD tent that was a best buy for me. I figured their sleeping bags were just as good. They proved me right, this bag is solid. I recently spent 4 strait nights in 29 degree weather and slept like a baby. The material on the inside is comfy, and the outside is pretty tough especially with the Drizone water proofing. The bag only got 4 stars because I seem to have trouble with the zipper. The zipper is reinforced but catches and has some trouble smoothly zipping all the way up. Besides the zipper trouble the draft tube is excellent, the bag is roomy and I would highly recommend it to anyone who need a good 3 season bag. Did i mention the Drizone water proofing? Good for protecting the down.

that confused me too. They actually make both. The 800 fill being a bit more expensive naturally. If you look in the backpacker gear issue..the one they rated so high is the 800 fill version. Retail for the 800 version is $329 and the 600 version is $239 both in regular sizes.
