Sierra Designs Reverse Combi- 2-Person 3-Season Tent - 2005

Looking for a tent that's loaded with features? The Sierra Designs Reverse Combi 2-person 3-season tent offers innovative design and comes with a footprint, portable attic, and coffee sling. The Reverse Combi's pre-bent poles create steeper walls than traditional tents, which gives you more room for minimal weight. Two doors that stash in side pockets reduce congestion and clutter. Interior gear pockets, the attic, and 11 square feet of vestibule space outside of each door give both of you plenty of storage room and personal space.

Bottom Line: Get all the goodies in the Reverse Combi.

Great tent

By:

I have used this twice and twice it's rained on me. I was bone dry, and had no condensation buildup. More than enough room for two, especially with the dual vestibules, which are quite roomy, but very easy for one person to handle. It's a nice bonus that it came with the footprint, attic, and coffee slings. It was a little awkward getting in and out with the vestibule down. Overall, I'm very happy.

Field Test

By:
May 18, 2005

Went on 3 day trip to Smokies and got rained on twice. I stayed quite dry, other than trying to get in the tent after the skies opened up. Either have to back in or better, take advantage of making awning of fly door w/trekking poles. Had plenty of space for two, luxurious vestibule space. Gear attic was handy for damp items. Easy to set up and take down, could probably handle fine by one person. Much cooler/more mesh than Omega CD. Highly recommended.

Reverse Combi: flexible, full feature set

By:
March 22, 2005

I received my tent today, and it's set up in my basement. My comparison is the SD Omega tent, much bigger, but heavier. The Reverse Combi has a variety of interior pockets, comes with a portable attic, and seems quite flexible in how you set up the spacious vestibule (door/half door/large awning). I fit easily (I'm 6'3") with my wife (5'10"), and I'm happy to have a second door. Construction seemed solid (I think pretty highly of SD after using the Omega in a variety of conditions--it's bullet-proof). The RC seems like it would have pretty good ventilation with a fair amount of mesh (but not as much on some tents). The innovative pole design does make it quite spacious, compared to other tents I saw in the store. I look forward to taking this into the field!
