Sherpa Adventure Gear Thamel Packable 2.5 Layer Jacket - Men's - 2007

When you roll into Kathmandu and a Himalayan tempest comes sweepin' through, throw on the waterproof Sherpa Adventure Gear Men's Thamel Packable 2.5 Layer Jacket and arrive at your hotel dry as a bone. This ultralight rain jacket rocks for wet weather treks from Nepal to New Jersey, and at only 10.6 ounces, disappears in your pack when the clouds move out. The small zippered chest pocket holds essentials, and Sherpa Adventure Gear sized the fully adjustable hood to fit over a helmet when you head for the high peaks.

Bottom Line: Big protection for little weight.

Super light.

I've had this jacket for about a month now, and for the price it is actually a decent jacket. The pros are that the jacket is extremely light and packs down to virtually nothing when not being worn. The cons are that it does tend to seep in quite a bit of water once it really starts coming down. Also the jacket is a bit short. I'm 6'3'' and it hits just above my belt line. So if you have a long torso or are on the tall side I would keep that in mind. That being said i would still recommend this jacket for the money. I'm pretty happy with it.

It is really light

OK, I'm updating my past review. I've been through some intense rain with this jacket and have found that it likes to soak in water along the seams, especially in the cuffs and the waist of the jacket where drink seems to gather. I'm not too sure how long it normally takes a rain jacket to dry but this one has taken more than 8 hours after a heavy storm (and that's when it was being hung out, in humid weather). I've checked my seams and have found that they are inconsistant. Oh, and when in heavy rain the hood also drips water down into the neck when it's pulled tight. It is really light though. I'd say it's a decent 40 dollar jacket.

Really light

This jacket is really light and works great for keeping water off. I've been using this for about a month in Guam and it rains here nearly every day from downpour to light drizzle this thing keeps my upper body really dry. However, my pocket seam did come undone recently. But I bet it's just a defect in the jacket I got.
