Seven2 Vapor Paddle - 2007

The Seven2 Vapor Paddle is an incredibly lightweight carbon paddle that's fit for battling the river or touring on the ocean. The ergonomic flex pattern in the Vapor Paddle's shaft increases the power of your strokes, and the cushiony grips keep your hands from blistering. This Seven2 paddle's 360-degree offset means you can adjust the blades to whatever position works best for you, and a flint-lock mechanism in the middle separates the two halves, so you can fit the Vapor Paddle into your car or store it in your kayak over the winter.

Bottom Line: You'll have power and comfort in your hand with the Seven2's lightweight Vapor Paddle.

Decent, not great paddle

By:
November 9, 2008

I've had the Vapor for a year or so, and I would call it a good not great paddle. The highlights are a small diameter shaft, which is good for smaller hands. My kids love using it. Also the price is pretty good for a fairly light paddle. The downsides to me are the fixed grip positions -- it's designed that your hands are on the grips, which means that on longer paddles it's harder to comfortably vary your hand positions. This may or may not be important to how you paddle. Maybe it's because I'm coming from using Werner carbon paddles, but the Vapor lacked the solid feel of a really nice paddle. Nowadays it's my spare, or as I mention, for the kids to use.

sick paddle that looks good too

By:

i picked up this stick for my rec/touring adventures, and i've never been more stoked on a paddle. its fast, its smooth, its lighter than anything. The funky curvature of the blade makes for a really seamless stroke. There's almost no slap in the first part of the stroke cause the blade just slices into the water. The shaft has some flex in it, but rather than being skittish, it seems to load up power like a spring from the resistance of the water, then it unloads right at the end of the stroke. And the sleek, simple aesthetics of the paddle are uber dank. check this stick out you'll love it.

How do you determine how many centimeters for a kayak paddle

How do you determine how many centimeters for a kayak paddle?

it has to do with your kayak width and also your height. I'm 5'10 with a kayak that's about 30" wide, and i use a 230, just to give you an idea. REI was really helpful with me showing me size charts

Love This Paddle

By:
March 3, 2008

I ended up buying two of these, one for myself and one for my husband. We both think these paddles rock compared to our old Aqua Bound paddles. They are very lightweight, the blades are large, and as the first reviewer noted, they are curved so they feel almost spring-loaded at the end of a stroke. I also love that the grips are smaller and formed better for my hands--I used to get blisters and cramping even with my gloves. I like the way the two pieces join, and although the second reviewer is right, the clamp loosens somewhat over time, you can tighten it back so it isn't really an issue. My old paddles seemed to expand and were sometimes impossible to get back together, especially in warm weather. Because of the construction, I don't think these paddles will have that problem. I really can't say enough good things about this paddle!

Not sure what's up with sfarber239100156399 (1)review other than he doesn't know how to operate the center clamp because these are superior paddles and connections. I love em and no I don't work for seven2.

Seven2 Paddle

By:
September 4, 2007

I almost love the paddle more than the kayak. It is extremely light, and it's almost like it is just an extension of your arms. The only complaint would be the clamp that joins the two pieces. It starts to open up after a while. It has only done it once though.

Sold on Seven 2 Paddles

By:
July 3, 2008

This is my second Seven 2 Paddle and my wife has one as well. They are light, and tough. The grips are great and the blade angle is infinitely tunable unlike a lot of paddles. Great product at a reasonable price.

Enjoy your kayak more with this great paddle

By:

I'm new at this kayaking thing...but I always go in feet first and head over heals. I bike and have a Treck, I golf and have Ping clubs, I play platform tennis and have the most expensive composite paddle...so you get the idea. I read somewhere the writer said " I'd rather have a bad kayak and a good paddle than a good kayak and a bad paddle" Very true...very true. this paddle is so smooth and easy to operate one can't wait to go paddling. I own a Hurricane 14 ft expedition sport and I will be 67 years old. I always bought the best shoes, nicest accessories and have never been disappointed by good quality products. In closing ...Ask yourself why purchase a good or expensive Kayak and torture yourself with a bargain basement paddle. Stop what your doing and place an order for this paddle NOW!

Strongly Not Recommended

By:
July 15, 2008

Have tried two of these paddles in all- the ISO and VAPOR. Both had problems staying together at the joint. The Vapor came apart within the first hour I was on the water!!! The Iso was purchased several years ago, so I thought the company had overcome the difficulties of the locking mechanism. Apparently not. I love the feel of the paddle and was very sorry to give up on this company for good, but really, they need to get a grip on this problem that has been going on for at least several years.
