We were going to say the Sessions Rocket Pant had rockets in it, but that was so obvious that we shelved the project in favor of cold hard facts. In truth, the Rocket Pant is one of the few GORE-TEX pants Sessions makes each season, and they spend a lot of time making sure these things are bomber. The 2-ply twill fabric has a great feel, but it’s tough enough to endure season after season of abuse. Cargo pockets let you stow extra gear without cluttering up your handwarmer pockets (which is where we stash the cell and the tunes, FYI, ‘cause they’re soft inside) and suspended boot gaiters keep the pow-wow from creeping up your legs. A loose fit lets you flex your style on the hill and won’t hinder your illmatic moves.
Bottom Line: GORE-TEX protection, and huge, huge rockets.
As with all sessions stuff, be careful with your sizing! These fit big and baggy while I would normally go with the medium (i am a 30/30 pant size) they were too big and I went down one size. But overall the pants are sick, good pockets, well built, a solid buy.
if you have any doubts go try a pair on in a shop just to be sure.
I'm the same size as you and the best fit for me is Arcteryx pants in size LT (Large Tall) (they make a longer inseam version of all sizes). Perhaps not the style you're looking for but it's hard to find better pants than the Stinger bib (freeride oriented) and Theta SV (ski/mountaineering oriented) bib from Arcteryx. Unforntunately hardly any other company produce long inseam pants.
I was not sure based on how these have lot less ratings than the other good pants out there, but decided to go with the gore-tex and take advantage of the huge mark-down.
the color was right on, not the dark gray one, but it was the ligher white/gray with darker print.
there are lots of pockets still, three on each leg, and two in the back for 8 total.
it even has this avalanche recovery stuff built in so they can find you if you get lost or something. ok with me if it actually works!
I just got these pants and they are tough, fully waterproof, have good pockets, fit is loose/slightly baggy (COOL) and the price can't be beat for GORE TEX!!
Depending on a cut of pants, I wear either 34/32 or 32/32... I bought these in a medium, and they were not falling off on me. I think I did the side velcro straps and they felt fine. I took them snowkiting, and they were great.I would say that in the leg area, they do feel pretty loose... sort of like I was wearing cowboy chaps... not that I've ever worn them, but you get the idea..
I just got mine today. Haven't tested them, but as for colour, I would call them a dirty white. Or as my friend described it.. "White Smoke! Which is white with a hint of grey."
I'm also trying to find out the 'true' color.Shown more grey than white here: http://www.evogear.com/pants/sessions-rocket-pant.aspxI'm confused? Which one is the real color?
The description says "loose" but I think they lean towards a baggy fit. I have another pair of Sessions Evo pants that are "baggy" fit and they are VERY similar. They are not tight at all.....which is good, because snug fit is for fruit boots.
