Throw the Sea to Summit DryLite Towels in your pack, and have a quick way to dry your dishes or yourself at camp. These super-soft microfiber towels are incredibly absorbent, and dry faster than you can say, “Wow these towels dry out insanely fast.” Almost. These compact, machine-washable towels work for everything from weeklong backpack trips to dayhikes with the fam. We can't control which color you receive, but we're sure you'll like it.
Bottom Line: These towels dry out almost as fast as they absorb water.
I have a small one of these that I use as a hand & face towel when travelling and take with me when backpacking (hiking) to use as a "bath" towel if I jump in a lake.
Dries fast. Feels like a typical microfibre towel. Gets a mouldy smell if it gets packed up damp too many days in a row (about a week), but the smell washes out fine.
I bought the biggest towel, which was maybe a little overkill, but it's the best towel I've used! This thing absorbs everything! It dries very quickly and cleans up very well. This is a must have! They're super soft and have a very nice feel!
A medium should have plenty of drying capacity for any activity, including showers. I've used an XS for showering, just ring it out if it gets saturated.
I also have the MSR PackTowel UltraLite! Both brands dry equally as fast however, MSR's UltraLite has the consistency of a heavy paper shop towel and S2S's DryLite feels a bit softer.
excellent towel. I use it traveling throughout europe and it works great! Drys fast. Also great for beaches as the sand does not stick to it even when it is wet!
Worth the extra money for a seemingly small towel. Towels are essential gear often overlooked until you need them for a variety of reasons. Even after cleaning off your soaked hands, face, or knife/machete you will be thrilled to own a very absorbent towel. Towels have countless applications on the trail and I keep one folded in my E&V pouch so I have quick access to it. As small essential towels are concerned this is a great pick. It packs tight and will soak up an amazing amount of water and dries quickly, easily ringable. Shamwow style results.
I am looking for a lightweight towel which I can take with me to summer campings and backpacking, something which dries fast. I am 5'3" , does any one know what size i would better go with? and which one of those towel? there are many kind of these new towels dry lite, tek and pocket towel. any advice which one is better to get?
The prior answer reads more like an ad, no comparison with the featured product - pretty useless. The drylite towel is more comfortable to me than any of the other pack towels. I would recommend you find some to get a feel for yourself before buying.
The question is whether you want a full sized body-type towel to dry off after a swim or one used to wash up at night before heading to bed. I would recommend the MSR Ultralight XL towel for full body coverage after swimming and the MSR Nano for washing up at night (face and hands). The Ultralite absorbs an incredible amount of moisture, dries super fast, and packs down amazingly small (about the size of a grapefruit). The MSR Nano is great in that it's soft and easy on the skin, absorbs an insane amount of liquid, dries fast, and is the smallest towel MSR makes (about the size of an package of gum). Both towels will serve you well. These are my recommendations. MSR Nano (https://www.backcountry.com/store/CAS0568/MSR-Packtowl-Nano-Lite.html); MSR Ultralite (http://www.backcountry.com/store/CAS0282/MSR-Packtowl-UltraLite.html)
This towel accompanied me on a recent camp out and quickly turned into an essential piece of gear. I have the XS which is plenty big for any type of hand towel stuff - just don't expect to be able to dry yourself off after a shower with it. I used this thing for almost everything: wiping out the inside of my tent, drying off hands, wiping out cooking gear, etc. Never let me down, and so light I didn't even know it was there.
I used this towel in the Medium after my shower this morning and it was super soft and super absorbent. Make sure to wash them in warm water before your first use and throw it in alone to prevent color leaching!
Anyone know how this compares to the MSR Ultralight towels? Trying to decide between the two - my main concern is how well they wring out and how fast they dry. Thanks.
I am in the militarty and when I need to deploy I need to pack light. These towels are great for that they fold up small and don't take up a lot of room. They do there job very well and dry fast too. A great buy
My son took two of these towels with him on a sailing trip to the Bahamas. He really liked them. He says they took a little longer than he thought they would to dry, but they stayed soft and packed well in his one small duffel that he was allowed to take onboard. He is 5'4" and says the large towel was the right size for him. I plan on getting more of these towels for my husband who is going to Philmont soon.
packs as small as can be and still have a nice feel. I have the large DryLite Towel and it just fits around my 33in waist to quickly change. When ringed out it dries fast. The more it gets used the softer is seems to be getting even though it was soft to begin with.
