Sea To Summit Deluxe Pack Cover - 2009

When clouds threaten to spill their contents onto your backpacking excursion, pull out the Sea To Summit Deluxe Pack Cover and prepare for the deluge. This durable waterproof cover features lightweight waterproof fabric on the body and a tough, 210D coated nylon bottom that holds up when you set the pack down on rough terrain. A drawcord loop around the opening seals the cover around the pack, and a metal drain hole at the bottom disperses with any sneaky drops. Sea To Summit also included a mesh storage bag to help the cover dry once the storm has passed.

Could these be used to help transport a backpack through an airport

Could these be used to help transport a backpack through an airport to prevent the straps and everything from getting damaged? For example, if I put the rain cover on the side of the pack with the harness/shoulder straps, etc...?

Yes, in fact I've done that before. Pack up my bag, put the pack cover on it, and then send it on it's way. Unfortunately, I've done this twice and the 2nd time, the pack cover got cut to the point where I can't use it anymore. But it does keep the straps and everything safe from being snagged.

The Sea To Summit Deluxe Pack Cover works as expected. I was caught in the rain for two days and nothing in my pack got wet. It is a little on the heavy side (as far as pack covers go) but I thought it was worth it for the durability. I tend to scoot my butt down boulders when scrambling, and I like the extra durable bottom of this cover.

Got this to go over an old large external frame pack. It fit the pack ok, but with the sleeping bag tied to the outside, it was a stretch to cover it as well. I got the large size. If you have a really big pack, this may not be the best choice.

Mesh storage bag?

The descriptions says, "Sea To Summit also included a mesh storage bag to help the cover dry once the storm has passed." Just bought one of these pack covers and there's no storage bag included. Is there really supposed to be?
