If you like the La Sportiva venoms you'll love these shoes. They break in a little slower but overall they last longer and the heal hook is better. Great all around shoes.

Get them a little bit extra tight otherwise there is give in the heel. i love these shoes. they really are one shoe for all climbs. although i don't get to climb slab routes so I've no clue about that. perfect for cracks. my street shoe size is 9 and for me these in size 8 (41) work.

Incredible shoe!! I took the advice of one of my friends and got them so that they were "toe-pinchingly tight" and after a couple climbs, the shoes stretched out and have been amazing. When buying, buy the size that fits you snugly for the length of your foot because after the shoe has stretched a bit (because it's unlined) if it is too long, even by a hair, they'll be too big to do a decent heel-hook. All-in-all amazing shoe for any climbing (especially bouldering or technical climbing) and is even great for beginners. One of my friends just got some and he loves them too.

An awesome shoe with great performance characteristics. It edges, toes-in, smears, and heel hooks fantastically well . The last is slightly downturned, but not at all uncomfortable. One gets a great feel for the rock with these shoes and despite their sensitivity, I would still recommend them to beginners. As for sizing, it was a bit tricky for me. I wear a 10.5 in street shoes and have had two other scarpa models that I got in 42.5. These shoes run a bit bigger though, and through a little trial and error (and the exemplary support of Backcountry's customer service team) I ended up finding a 42 to be a perfect fit. If you tend do size down in the extreme, pain won't be a huge problem with the Vision V, but the heel felt short and awkward to me when traveling that road. Very sincerely, it's pretty hard for me to imagine someone being unsatisfied with this shoe.

After buying these shoes in a 42.5, 43, 43.5 and a 44 even I ended up going with the 43.5 I have another pair of scarpas in a 46 too so I had a hard time sizing these. The backcountry guys really helped me out with returning the ones I didn't want and I'm really happy with the shoes. They haven't stretched out a ton yet but I imagine they will a bit more. They heel hook really well and have great smearing and edging traction. They also have a pretty sharp toe and I have never put so much weight on tiny features with such good luck as with these shoes. Top notch shoes overall very high performance if they are tight enough. I have a narrow foot and the tops are a little loose but I have never noticed it affecting my climbing.

these shoes are great. while the season hasn't started for me and i haven't had a chance to really test them on rock, i've used them indoors a bit and the edging is great and the toe is sweet. They are a bit tighter around the toes then other scarpas. I don't know about the rubber yet as i haven't had a chance to test them on rock, but it seems pretty solid. the heel is softish, which i personally like (as long as your foot fits snugly in the shoe the heel works great). The Velcro/slipper aspect works great and can be made comfortable while you belay, and can be made super tight for technical climbs.

I did not get a chance to use them for a long time as i ordered a half size smaller (7.5) than my street size and they stretched and so the heel gave away but if sized properly, they can be great. The velcro closure is just great and they are comfortable. WIsh they were slightyl more agressive for bouldering purposes. Recommend this shoes for beginners and intermediates and get them tight...they will stretch...hang in for the first week or so...
