As you hike another hard sport route, the precision edging performance of the Scarpa Vision Rock Climbing Shoe makes the smallest dime edge feel like a sidewalk. The shoe's slightly downturned toe provides excellent feel when the wall gets steep. Grippy Vibram XS Grip rubber sticks to the rock like glue when you're pumped out of your gourd. Anti-stretch panels surround the leather upper, so these Scarpa shoes fit perfectly right out of the box without a painful break-in period. Whether you're on a steep sport climb, burly boulder problem, or horrendously technical trad pitch, the Vision helps you see the way.
Bottom Line: See the difference the Scarpa Vision Climbing Shoes make when precise footwork is required for a send.
good, semi-aggressive shoes. I use them climbing on limestone, sandstone, and granite; and the performed well in each environment. Probably not the perfect shoe for any specific type of climbing, but they work very well for all types.
This shoe fits my narrow feet perfectly and has a slight, but not painful, downturn on the toes to allow for precise footwork. Thus far, I have not experienced the one fullsize stretch that other reviewers talk about so I don't think I'll take them on long multi. Overall, great fit for narrow feet.
I'm looking to buy my first pair of climbing shoes, and i'm pretty sure it's going to be these. I'm just wondering how to size for them. I'm looking for a moderately aggressive fit, and i wear a 10/10.5 in Salomon. Any suggestions?
Perfect shoe, except for the heel. My heel feels overly loose and pulling hard with my heel in these shoes is not an option. Already great for face and thin cracks, after these loosened up and were resoled with Stealth, these shoes made great slab shoes as well. I sized down significantly, size 40 on a street-size 10 foot.
Ive never climbed with scarpa shoes but the shoes I have used sizing has been a pain Im a 11 1/2 in sneakers but Ive worn 10 1/2 to 12 in climbing shoes like mad rock and evolve any sizing suggestions for these shoes?
I wear a size 11 street shoe and picked these up in size 44. Fit is perfect, and my feet are sort of wide too. The grip is great, but the heel does feel a little loose. I guess I could try cranking the laces down more in the future to see if that helps. Oh yeah, and they'll turn your feet red.
The soles are flexible enough for max sensivity. It's slightly down turned, but not overly aggressive. It's still comfortable enough to handle long climbs.
are these stealth rubber. im looking to do free running and im not sure whether to go with parkour shoes or just rock climbing shoes. ive heard of a material called stealth rubber and im looking to find it. contact me with help PLZ!!! let me know what you think. contact info: dynobiker12@yahoo.com
Look into some approach shoes. They have lacing systems that go to the toe, good support, ample padding and a sole that is based on climbing shoe stickiness.
you do not want climbing shoes for running in. they will be uncomfortable and the lack of padding in the soles will result in bruised soles and sore ankles and knees. i dont know about parkour shoes, but you dont want climbing shoes unless you are climbing.
These are a pretty decent shoe, especially for narrow feet. They edge great, but are not soft enough for those smear moves, and the heel has a little too much dead space. Other than that, good!
First of all these are very comfortable, the lacing and tongue design are great. They're easy to tune in by tightening the laces, for comfort or good feel. As others have stated probably not great for anything specific but good all around. I have used them in the gym, on granite and limestone and the performed fine. I also have had problems with the heel, I have narrow heels as it is but considering I got them from you guys for $32!!!!!!!! I'm more than happy.
just got my second pair. love them. broke them in in no time. nice edging and snug fit and really soft leather. you will get red feet the first times you use them. my heel has a little too much room, but maybe thats just my feet. however, no problems with heel hooks so far. i bought them in 41.5 though my street shoe size is 44 maybe 43.5 and my toes are not extremely squeezed. only 4 stars, cause i haven't tried that many other shoes. i would give 4.5 if possible, 5 if the heel would be just a bit tighter.
I love these Scarpa shoes. They are comfortable but precise. I think I like them even better than the Scarpa velcro visions. They are wonderful hether you are climbing easy or hard, slab or wildly overhung climbs. It's the best Scarpa shoe that I've had. I'm on my third pair and I don't see any reason to switch to any other shoe.
