Scarpa T2 Telemark Ski Boot - 2008

The refined Torsion Frame in the Scarpa Men’s T2 Telemark Boot extends through the toe for maximum later stability, while the plush Intuition Performance Tour lining brings orthotic-like comfort. The frame and asymmetrical overlap cuff allow for power and control when the fluff gives way to heavy gnar. The triple-injection foot cuff eliminates foot slop, and aluminum buckles trim weight. Scarpa also added a replaceable scuff guard in front of the lower buckle to increase durability and disperse forefoot buckle pressure. Those Italians think of everything.

Bottom Line: Lateral stability with tele flex.

I have a question about sizings and feel. I wear a size 26 in the T2X. Will it be the same in a Crispi XP? And if I'm an intermediate telemark skier, will the XP be too stiff for me?

Thanks

I have a good fit with Salomon mondopoint 27.5 alpine boots. What size Scarpa T2X mondo size do I need? Does the liner need to be heat fitted at a shop?

It is hard to tell, but you could give the 27.5 a try. And I would suggest getting the liners baked because the boots will be much more comfortable.

Love It

My first boot was the T1 bumblebee, which with three buckles and (seemingly)lead in the footbed skied big skis fine, but killed me on tours. I upgraded to the T-Race, but hated sidecountry tours with it, but again wanted to keep the stiffness and support. Last year bought the T2X. It rips. It is my go-to-boot now, and I can honestly say my skiing does not suffer no matter whether I am skiing icy moguls, steep couloirs, pow meadows, or touring up alpine valleys. This boot keeps the weight down while giving you great support on the shins due to the powerstrap and higher cuff. The new locking mechanism for the heel really helps suck my foot in place too, and of course the walk lever is invaluable for long bootpacks. I highly recommend buying a pair of the T2x if you are an advanced tele skier who is sick of heavy boots, but wants to keep the stiffness of the old T1s.

I am new to tele skiing. I have been tele skiing for two years

I am new to tele skiing. I have been tele skiing for two years now. I love the T2x boots. I have them paired with rotfella cobra bindings and atomic skis. I'm still having a hard time on the steeps with sticking to a tele turn. The problem I'm having is that when I stand on my skis the heel of my boot does not want to make contact with the heel plate of my bindings. Are my boots not broken in enough? Do I have my bindings set to tight or am I expecting to much from my set up?

Trent, you may be experiencing rockerlaunch. On the living room floor put your empty boot into the binding; see how the boot heel is lifting up in the back? We light weights have probems with rockerlaunch on some bindings. I have some Cobra R8s and experience a similar feel. Hammerheads or better yet Bishop Bomber bindings eliminate rockerlaunch. Your downhill foot must be flat on the ski with forward pressure to ski well. Three seasons on my T2s - great boot!

So I've been using these for the past two seasons, I love the fit but I'm having some heel lifting issues. It feels like the liner is coming up off the bottom of the shell thus making me feel like I am deeper in a turn than I really am, which causes all sorts of problems. Any suggestions?

I had this problem when my liners packed out after a few seasons of heavy use. I bought a custom intuition liner- fixed the problem.

Whiteboyborb: I suggest going to your local ski tech and having them fit you with heel shims. I have a low volume foot and often feel like liners don't "suck" my heel in place enough, even from the first blowing of a new liner. I've used what the ski-tech described as a "butterfly shim" on the liner to pinch/contract the liner along the heel. So far it has made the dead space in the heel disappear. Good luck.

Great boot if it fits

By:
September 8, 2009

I bought these boots last year. I have about average width feet. After finally being able to jam my feet in the boots, I took a few runs at my local resort. The boots performed very well,(great flex and stiffness), but by the time I had finished my third run, my feet were so sore I had to stop skiing. I brought them back to the shop and exchanged them for some Garmont G-Fits which are quite a bit wider. If you have narrow feet these are fantastic boots.

If you want fat tele skis that would be a good match in stiffness for T2s, I'd say the K2 Work Stinx, 174s. They're a lot of fun.

I have the same sized foot. Based on Scarpa's sizing, I think that puts you at a 25 mondo.

Best tele boot if it fits your foot..

By:
May 4, 2009

I recently had these stolen out of my car and so in the process of buying new boots tried really hard to fall in love with a different boot. I tried on the garmonts, black diamond's new boot, dynafits, and a few others. I ended up buying the same boot again. scarpa T2

What is the difference between the Scarpa T2 Telmark ski boot (Mens) and the Scarpa T2X Telmark ski boot?

My understanding is that the T2x is stiffer due to a lengthened cuff and improved powerstrap up top. I dont own the old T2s, but I am assuming the T2x updated the ratchets for the heel strap too. Overall, the T2x is stiffer and taller, but keeps the general weight savings of the T2. I think it skis, notwithstanding the weight difference, the same as my old T1 bumblebees.

Tim,The T2 is an older model if its dark blue, The T2X has been around now for about 4 years and is red. The conversion for a Men's 8.5 is 25.5 mondo.

My T2 boots are 3 years old, I'm wondering if the thermo liners can be re-molded a second time, and if so how the performance might be affected?

Boots can generally be molded three times. The re-molding of liners will make them a little thinner or more "packed out." If your boots are uncomfortable I would suggest trying to remold and not worry about packing them out.

Scarpa boots come with Intuition liners which have the overlap design. No lace up. It seems strange at first, but they are very comfortable. There is no TR-2 boot. You have the T-Race, T1 and T2X. The T2X is a great Backcountry boot. Very light and comfortable to walk in.
