Scarpa Kailash GTX Hiking Boot - Women's

Whether you take the Scarpa Women's Kailash GTX Hiking Boot on a day hike or a weeklong backpacking trip, it ensures you have the support and durability you need for every step. The Gore-Tex membrane creates a waterproof breathable barrier between your foot and a muddy stretch of trail. Scarpa used a Vibram Hi-Trail Lite sole to give you the traction you need and the long-lasting performance you expect. The suede upper and rubberized toe cap make the Kalish GTX Hiking Boot as burly as you could want without the feel of a heavy waffle stomper.

Bottom Line: For short hikes and long slogs.

I wore these boots to go hiking right out of the box & had no issues with discomfort or blisters.

I found these to be very comfortable, however, I've only used them on 2 hikes so far.

As far as sizing...I wear an 8 1/2 street shoe & ordered these boots in size 40 1/2 (which translates to US 8 2/3). They fit very well with a pair of Thorlo socks.

I need a wide width. Is the Scarpa a wide fitting boot?

Olga,
These tend to be a medium fit in the womens, if you can find your size in a mens I think you will be good

Have used these to explore various trails around Tahoe. Fit is great...one of the few boots that keeps my heel in place (no blisters!) and traction is awesome.

Does anyone know if these are a good boot for wider feet? Do they breathe okay or are they sweat boxes? I need a summer hiking boot with good ankle support. Ideas?

Love Em for shorter hikes but...

After 2 yrs and a good 1,500 miles I'm finally wearing them out, vibram sole and all, but they're still hikeable. I wish more boots would have the stable, stiff feel of these-- solid but not clumsy. Others I've tried, including many in the "backpacking" cat, bend at the ball of the foot too easily-- if I can twist or bend the forefoot without them on, no chance I'll like them, so this fits the bill nicely. The fit is great-- just high enough on the ankle, great support without any pressure, and easy, effective lacing. Sizing is true and good for my low volume, narrow feet, and the toe box is nice and roomy. My one and only complaint is: For $184 you think they could spring for a dual density midsole or something! Anything over 5 or so miles of rocky, steep hiking you can feel to the bone. But for shorter, fast packing and hiking, they are the ultimate- you can fly along the trail with confidence.
