Salomon XW Hurricane + Z12 Ski - 2008

Whether you fancy the powder, jump turns down steeps, or cranking GS-style turns on the groomers, step into the Salomon XW Hurricane Alpine Ski and Z12 Ti Bindings and live the dream. An extra large shovel provides the surface area to float in the pow, and a deep sidecut helps this all-mountain ski bit into hardpack. Salomon's monocoque construction efficiently transfers power directly to the edge. An Isocell Complex foam core provides a lively feel and reduces chatter on the groomers. Salomon built the XW Hurricane Skis' with UMWH graphite bases for a blazing fast ride that keeps your speed on the long traverse back to the lift.

Bottom Line: Tear the mountain to shreds.

No, these are directional all mountain carving skis. It says right in the description, flat tail.

i jumped on these back east, and took a few runs on them. I expected them to be good, but they were more like 'freaking rad'. not as stiff as the fury, but they there was definitely no slipping on ice. i loved ripping tight gs turns on the hurricanes.

If you are more of an intermediate skier, look at the 172, but if you are a more aggressive/expert skier, I say you should be able to handle the 180.

i think this would be a good ski for you. I would look at the fury as well. they will be your stiffer option, so faster when racing. the hurricane is lighter w/ a more gentle flex so they will be a little more user friendly in the trees and bumps. i hope that helps.
