Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra Trail Running Shoe - Women's
Salomon made the lightweight, shock-absorbing Women's XA Pro 3D Ultra Trail Run Shoe for everything from your morning run in the foothills to your trail running excursion along the Appalachian Trail. Salomon's 3D advanced-chassis system pairs with close-to-the-ground construction for ultimate stability. This system stabilizes your feet over uneven terrain, without losing energy from your stride. Less stiff thanks to less TPU in the sole and pronation control in the midsole, the XA Pro 3D Ultra rises above the other XA models, providing more shock absorption and unparalleled comfort. Built for moving quickly, the 3D has lightweight, breathable sandwich mesh, so you can run the best times of your season. Salomon's Quicklace asymmetrical lacing with a lace-hiding pocket provides a foot-hugging, dependable fit through your entire race.
Bottom Line: Run faster and farther in the super light Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra Trail Run Shoe.
This is without a doubt the coolest shoe I have ever owned! The quick lace system is great, and the shoe is extremely lightweight but supportive at the same time.Very fast on trails...breathable as well...and they dry fast. They also look freakn awesome! Definitely buy this shoe!
Once you go speed lace you don't want to go back! I continue to wear Salomon runners as my all around shoe. running or not. They are very responsive to anything life hands me on a day to day basis. Not to rigid, not to soft, just enough support in ALL the right spots.
Surprisingly, these fit a bit larger than I'd expected? 3rd pair in, same style as before & suddenly they fit almost a 1/2 size to big! Hmmm. In the end they're still better than most other runners I've owned. (have wider feet & low arches = New Balance or Salomon)
Write your question here...I'll be day hiking the Grand Canyon from rim to rim in June and am searching for the right shoe. These look great but am looking for some advice.
I used the men's version of these shoes to hike the 3 Mountain Challenge last year which was 38 miles and 12,000 feet of vertical gain over 3 peaks and they were great. I didn't have any issues with blisters. However, they do have a mesh upper and that allows some fine sand to accumulate in the shoe, so if you're hiking in sand you may want to stop and empty the shoe occasionally, otherwise the sand in your shoe can cause blisters.
I just started running "distance" (5K) again at age 40 ... had no idea which shoes to get. All my friends kept telling me Asics is the way to go, so I got a pair...they are OK. I also got a pair of Salomons off a recommendation from Women's Health magazine ... WOW! These shoes are AMAZING! They have the best arch support out of any shoe I've owned my entire life. The toe box is roomy, and I love the quick lace system ... shoes stay snug while I'm running. These shoes are well worth the money, and I will never buy another brand again. Salomon ... you rock!!!
I have owned like ten pairs of salomon shoes and they never disappoint. I have to say I am slightly more partial to the salomon techamphibians because they are lighter and more breathable, but these are great too. Very comfortable straight from the box. They do run about a half size to a full size big.
no, these are not waterproof. the waterproof version can be found here:http://www.backcountry.com/store/SAL1397/Salomon-XA-Pro-3D-Ultra-GTX-Trail-Running-Shoe-Womens.htmlthey will work fine for walking, but are overkill for that sort of thing. if you're going to be spending much time on the road i would suggest something with reflectors.
My wife and I bother now have 5 pairs of Salomon trail running shoes and would not have any other brand. What sells them for us is the quick lace system that holds the whole foot in place inside the shoe, and stability of the bottom of the shoe with the newer pairs having the 3D advanced chassis system controlling that ankle roll. great shoes.
I LOVE Salomons. I keep trying to order new ones. The last three pairs I have ordered haven't fit. Their sizing has been incredibly inconsistent; I suppose they're made in different parts of the world or something. It's been a huge disappointment not to be able to get a new pair.
These shoes are great. I wouldnt run in anything else on the trails. Running these shoes for the past few years and would even consider changing brands. Comfortable, supportive, light and very breathable. I run the same version although in the Gortex for winter/wet day running and love them, even more than the summer version. Dont try and wear the Gortex ones in summer they get far to hot. The Gortex version do fit a little smaller due the the outer fabric. I would recommend these for road runners. I have found them to not have enough support and "cushion" for miles of road running. Great trail shoes as mentioned. Salomon you have me supporting your brand on the trails as you support me.
I just received this my first pair of Salomons. Perhaps there are some better running shoes out there but for me these an unsurpassed. Can't believe how light they feel, and yet they offer so much support throughout. Also they are cool, seem to repel moisture very well, and for Florida's humid climate they rock!!! Don't think these will be my last pair of Salomons I am hooked.
You can't and won't find a better pair of shoes. I have been buying these for the last 5 years and I'm never disappointed. The lacing system holds them tight (even after I broke a lace). The support is like nothing else, they are lightweight and breathable yet keep water out. And they will last forever (unless someone steals them from the back of your truck while your hiking!) Go Salomon!!!!
I have both the Gore-Tex and regular version of this shoe and they are the only running/trail shoe I will buy. I have both high arches and bunions and these work with both of the conditions. Because of the mesh uppers any funky toes issues work themselves out really quickly. Mt heals donât slip because of the lacing system and you can slip them on for a trip to the grocery store real east.
Note: These shoes are built on the same Adidas Oswego foot bed which provides that âwingâ look at the heal and gives great support for trail running. If you normally wear Adidas these will fit you great.
Took my feet some getting use to the great support, but now I feel like these shoes could help me to actually enjoy the entire run; not just the after effect of endorphines. I have a wide foot and these were perfect for my feet. The size is true to form. Went for my 4th run yesterday in them and my feet felt great the whole time. I trail run in the Sawtooth Mountain Valley and these shoes are holding up to harsh conditions thrown their way. I will definitely be buying Salomon again!
I have 4 pairs of these shoes. I buy them every year. Why change a good thing? Light, comfortable and fantastic treads... Because of the light mesh, they are a bit cold for use in the winter(wear more socks)... My only point of irritation are the laces. Once they break, lacing becomes a problem... There are no replacement sets due to their sewn in nature and the fact that the laces are covered in some sort of slippery material makes knot tieing difficult. But from show function, perfect.
I really like this shoe and immediately took the shoe out for a run. but once running realized they were too big. I usually wear between a size 7.5 to 8 in casual shoes and than go up a full size to a 9 for running shoes but b/c of the room toe box and overall length of the shoe they were way too big. so i've returned them adn I'm waiting for the smaller version. but great so far!
They are so super comfortable! I was worried without actual laces to tie they would not stay tight but the quick lace works great. They run a half a size big, my husband (He bought same exact version for the men) and I both had to return for a half a size smaller. Fantastic shoe though!!
I have had at least 5 pairs of these shoes, and the soles have gone out before any material on the actual shoe part. The lacing system is fantastic, and has yet to fail me. They are light weight, dry fast, and I get compliments all the time on how cool lookin' they are. I have a hard time allowing myself to purchase any additional sneakers from other companies.
the shoes perform well and i have had no complaints there, The outsole protects my feet well, and keeps them dry...but i am not a fan of the lacing system. It comes loose, it is hard to customize the fit. If these had regular laces they'd be perfect.
Very pleased with these sneakers, I could not believe how comfortable they are. No need for inserts at all. Well worth the money, nothing beats a good pair of shoes. I highly recommended these!!
