Salomon Special Snowboard - 2008

Salomon created the Special Snowboard for those who ride every corner of the mountain. With the ERA 3-D core profile Salomon cut out some of the core under your bindings to lower weight and add pop for jibbing, and to maintain a snappy flex to hold the board down when you open up the throttle. This directional twin board's über-fast sintered 4000 base boosts backcountry gaps while the quadratic side cut gives you the quickness to dodge the trees. Burly sidewall construction provides extra durability on freestyle terrain.

Bottom Line: Ride it all.

excellent all around board if you are just getting into snowboarding. good board to figure what kind of riding you like. great in the fluffy stuff but light enough for the park. fast board!

Burton Cartels, or The Ride Alpha and last but not least the K2 cinch- if you are looking for speed.

Sweet Stick!

I have had Salomon boards since day 1 and I think they make the best boards out there. There are lots of great boards out there but Salomon produced a board full of technology and if you wait long enough(now) you can get them for virtually half price. Sure you can get a Burton and they make great boards too, but so much of that is the name you pay for. Get a Salomon great ride, durable board with the best base in the business.

Ride on.

This is an all mountain board so you can ride slope or park with it. It claims to be pretty flexy.

Special is special

The salomon special 156 is truly 2 boards in one. I can carve up the mountain or play in the park. It is soft and flexible when I'm in freestyle mode or I can cruise and carve with no loss of stability at speed and it holds an edge. With my Relay Pro bindings from Dogfunk, what a great combo for whatever type of riding you want to do!
