Salomon Solaris 2 Hiking Shoe - Women's - 2007

From a day hike at Crater Lake to a rainy day walking around downtown Portland, the Salomon Women's Hiking Shoes deliver all-weather, all-terrain comfort. These day hiking shoe's textile liner wicks sweat and moisture away from your feet, and the Gore-Tex insert then lets this moisture escape, while keeping rain out, so your feet stay dry and comfortable all day. Because women typically have narrower heels and a lower calf shape than men, Salomon gave the Women's Solaris 2 a lower-volume heel, which allows you to hike harder and longer with less pain and blisters. Finally, the Solaris features the same Mountain Contragrip outsole found on Salomon's heavy-duty mountain boots, so you know the tread will stand up to any day hike you might undertake.

Bottom Line: Take it to the trails while wearing the Salomon Solaris 2 Hiking Shoes.

so far so good...

These seem to be great shoes so far. Because it is still quite snowy here in Jackson Hole, I haven't worn them hiking yet, but I have been wearing them around town. They are very confortable, lightweight, and attractive. I would suggest buying a size small as the shoes seem to run large (I initially ordered a 7.5 and they were so big, I ended up exchanging for a 6.5).

Bought these for a trip to Crater Lake. Lightweight and comfortable straight from the box. Hardly needed any breaking in.

Great for both Rural & Urban Hiking!

By:

Took these on a trip to visit my parent outside Champoeg State Park in the Portland Metro Area of Oregon. Did well in various outdoor rural terrain with my Mom's Rhodesian Ridgeback. Did equally well on a side trip to San Francisco, where I hiked up and down Powell Street, all over the Suset / Parkside district and various parts of the East Bay. I highly recommend these for lightweight, waterproof boots.

I love 'em !

These are great shoes for me-my first ever pair of hiking shoes. I ended up with size 7 when normally I wear a 7 1/2. I broke them in hiking on trails and lots of red rock in Moab, Utah. Nothing that fun here in Dallas Texas, but until I find my next trail I can just wear them around town. Comfortable, plenty light and lots of bang for the buck.
