Salomon Snowclog 3 - Women's - 2008

Slip your feet into a shell of warmth when you wear the Salomon Women’s Snowclog 3. A Thinsulate lining brings your little piggies in from the cold while the water-resistant leather-suede upper lets big, bad winter blow all it wants. The Snowclog’s neoprene ankle collar keeps street slush out when you head into town. Salomon’s Contagrip rubber sole keeps you on solid ground in icy conditions.

Bottom Line: Everyone loves a trilogy.

Functional, but not exactly "Chic"

I have last years model of this shoe. I wear it on ski days or for getting around town on a snow day. They are comfortable, warm and have good traction in sloppy conditions. However, they are sorta clunky - I have a 9.5 foot and I do feel a bit Sasquatch-ian in them. If you have cute little feet and/or are not worried about showing up on The Star cover as a Bigfoot sighting...go for it.

Great Gear

Great warmth, great fit and most of all great traction. I am always slipping and sliding and this snowclog brought an end the slip/slides. Light weight and fun to boot (pun intended).

Functional... but not pretty

By:

Okay - so they look like the Dungbeetle of shoes, with the huge lugs and tread design that looks like a snowmobile built for your foot rather than the sole for a shoe, but, they're functional!

The Salomon snow clog feels a lot like a "slipper" which is really nice after a long day of skiing.

The shoe is waterproof, and although the low design fits snug enough to keep most snow out, snow still finds its way in, I also found that they do not breathe well.

They are warm, functional, and easy to put on and off.

Just got mine today

I usually wear a sz8.5 or 9, depending on the brand. I initially ordered the SnowClog3 in sz 9. The fit was almost perfect except that the front corner of my big toes were rubbing against the inside of the shoe. Bummer. Then they went out of stock, and so I ordered the 'sister' model Lodger instead. (The Lodger sz9 fits perfectly.) I've had those about a week, love them, then found that the SnowClog was back IN stock, so grabbed those in a sz 9.5. They arrived today, and I've worn them only a couple hours around the house. Now I have both models!!

The fit between Lodger and SnowClog is definitely different!! I would say the SnowClog runs about 1/2 size smaller than Lodger. Lodger 9 = SnowClog 9.5. But SnowClog feels a little roomier side-to-side in the forefoot, and the tongue is a little bit taller. The insulation seems to be placed different in both too- in Lodger, the toe box sidewalls feel like they have a thicker lining than SnowClog.

Good news on fit- my toes are not hitting the end in the sz9.5, and it feels like I can wear heavier-gauge socks in these than I can in Lodger. So I'm calling these a keeper.
