I have a pair of these bindings that are about 7 years old. I

I have a pair of these bindings that are about 7 years old. I don't get to use them very often, but in the past few days the snow has been great and I've wanted to ski. But I'm having real difficulty with getting the boot into the binding. It takes many many trials and sometimes-- but it seems only by luck -- they work. It's extremely frustrating. In the past, i've had no trouble. is it me, or is it the bindings?

Sure thing. However, I would make sure to take them into a ski shop where they have all of the right tools and know-how. Most XC-ski shops will only charge about 10$ for a mounting fee. The new boots and bindings are so much nicer than the 3-pin stuff, but the initial investment to new boots and bindings can sometimes be a little pricy.

Great binding. Easy to get in and out of. Only difficulty was getting someone to mount them. The template is very hard to find. With the elusive template, no problem.

In short yes. The thing to look for on the boot is a single bar that locks on to the binding near the front of the boot. The other type of Salomon binding is called the SNS Pilot and has two attachment points instead of just one.

I want to put bindings on my snowshoes. Is that possible? The strap-in method that showshoes have just never stays tight (especially if you try to run) and I want to be able to clip in and go, but I know nothing about skis or bindings. Could I rig a ski binding onto a snowshoe?
