Salomon Ivy Felt Boot - Women's

I absolutely love these boots!

The fit is rather flat and snug across the instep and the tops of my toes, fairly roomy side-to-side in the toe box, and quite loose in the heel for me (with my rather narrow-heeled feet). They are very comfortable for me even when standing for several hours, but maybe a bit too loose for lots of walking. If you have a high arch, the fairly flat instep will probably not be too good for you. The footbed feels a lot like a Birkenstock sandal, very firm and stable with bumps in interesting places (no toe ridge, though). The felt uppers are very warm, but so is the rest of the boot - insulated leather. I like the lace-in-back idea: it's different and looks cool, but does take a little bit of getting used to, and you'll probably never tie them as fast as regular instep laces.

I haven't tried these much on ice or snow yet, so I'm not sure if the tread will perform well overall. It doesn't look terribly aggressive, at least. The rather flat and wide outer sole, though, means it feels *really* stable and solid, and the heels make a satisfying little "clunk" sound when walking on pavement or wooden floors, even though the boot is very light in weight.

So I can't say enough about how much I just LOVE the look of these boots! But I will say that there doesn't seem to be enough room in the boot for a comfortable fit. Especially if you like wearing thicker socks.

I ordered 1/2 size larger than my shoe size as suggested- heel was wide,but I am planning on using heavy wool blend socks with them- they feel great- My very favorite boot-so much so I'm getting ready to buy another pair! Large toe box-perfect for diabetics like myself... sole is a little slick on some tile surfaces....

These boots are absolutely great looking. But when I tried them on the instep was tight and the heel was very loose (size 9). I put on heavy sox and a liner sock and tried again. Even with the laces tightened up fully, my heel still slipped up and down when I walked in them. I'm certain a smaller size would not have fit across midfoot. Reluctantly, I've returned them. May be great for a different shaped foot.

these shoes were def. a great buy. Super warm, and nice looking. Only downfall- the laces tie in the back.

Compliments are ever-ending. Everyone loves them and wants to know where I got them. Lacing in back isn't as big of a deal as one would think (I just keep them tied at all times) they are warm but not the warmest. I like to wear a thicker sock with them to keep the feets a little warmer and give a little more padding on the bottom. Overall though, I like them a lot

I'm absolutely in love with these puppies. I bought a second pair cuz' I liked them so much! They do fit a little big, but, I fixed the problem with a wool felt insole and that also made the foot bed less ridgid.
You may want to order a half size smaller though.
I find the lacing easier than front lacing, by putting my shoe on the opposite knee-the laces are very accessible.

I typically wear women's size 9. I ordered both 9 and 9.5 just to be sure. At first I thought the instep was a little high and uncomfortable. But I continued wearing them for a couple hours around the house and was very pleased with the fit. Yes the heel seems a little wide but not a problem for me. It has somewhat of a flat style because the sole is not big lugs not other winter boots. VERY lightweight and cozy. I don't mess with the laces as they are just fine to wear and slip on. Love the color and the little pop of red makes them look sharp. I would recommend to others.
