Salomon GCS XCR Trail Running Shoe - Women's - 2006

The Salomon GCS XCR Women's Trail Running Shoe features a Gore-Tex XCR insert for 'guaranteed dry' feet on wet runs. This membrane breathes like crazy while it blocks all external moisture, so you can wear these shoes through summer and into late fall and early winter. Using Salomon's Ground Control System, which adapts to uneven ground but keeps your foot stable, these trail runners save your energy and prevent injury while you hoof it over the roughest terrain. A mud guard, protective toe and heel caps, and bootie-fit construction keep you striding along in comfort.

my favorite hiking shoes ever

never worn Salomon shoes before. fit like my mizuno running shoes in terms of sole contour. lightweight and really easy on and off. and they look cool.

These may be a little cushy, but for a waterproof trail running shoe they have a fair amount of forefoot flex. Not as much as I would like, but the best I've tried. Went through two pair of XA Pro GTX before these. The GCS is less stiff, and fit is a hair smaller.
