The Salomon GCS Pro Shoe gives you a super smooth ride no matter how burly the trail. The Ground Control Shock-absorption system acts as suspension, adjusting to terrain as you run, giving you a consistently stable base without taking energy from your stride. Made from lightweight, breathable materials, these shoes keep your feet cool and comfortable. A mudguard doesn't let seepage ruin your day and the speed lace system with lace pocket gives you a custom fit without any hangups.
Bottom Line: Like running with suspension on your feet.
These are my second pair in 18 months. I am partial to performance shoes as they seem to be designed with all sorts of orthopedic issues in mind. I am no a Trail runner, so don't think I am an extreme athlete. These shoes do it all for me, Great foot bed for my arches. Easy to put on, tie up and untie. Cool in the gym and around the campsite. Rain, puddles, and beach are no problem. Feet do not smell after wearing them with out socks. Really nice to walk and run in with the nifty heal and sole flex point. I would have opted for a different colour but I like the shoes so much and the price including shipping, tax and exchange made them a no-brainer compared to the 150.00 price in Canada. (What I paid initially for the first pair) I would do it again even at the 150.00 price. One negative- the tread wears down a little too quickly. My Vasque still have tread and I were them in the same environments. Ill have to manage my shoe usage better Good for Solomon
This is a great shoe. My first pair of Solomon's. Very light, very comfortable. Drawstring lacing is great. Very breathable. My feet have flattened in recent years and these shoes have great arch support and stability. Highly recommended.
These shoes are unbelievable. Comfort, stunning looks without being tacky. I have flat feet, and even without orthotics these things are so comfortable. An incredible shoe. Worth every penny.
I've been running in Solomon shoes for the past four years. These shoes fit great out of the box.. I took them running with no break in problems. Can't wait till the snow melts to do it again.
I love these shoes! They are more breathable than my TNF Karno's which I have worn the soles off of but refuse to get rid of. I will do the same with these they are just as comfortable and for beating the heat they are definitely my choice for the summer. I mean, besides going barefoot. I would definitely recommend these to anyone.
These shoes are awesome, great support, great ventilation, and super stylish. I get a TON of comments asking what kind of shoes they are....and the customer service people are very competent!
The GCS Pro is Ace's fourth pair of Salomon AR shoes. Where to test these babies? How bout Berkley commons (300ft) through Claremont Park to Grizzly Peak (1720Ft) Then over and down to Wildcat Creek (900Ft) and back. Climb 1420feet in 2 miles - no blisters, no friction. Snoot full of mud kickin', some Hikers (Yuck!). Back to the peak, then, down, way down, soul slappin', quad burnin', ham quakin' down to the car - tightened up the laces and let Ace fly. OK. These are comfortable, grippy and adjustable with a solid safe base. Could have a smaller girth in the toe box, but when your feet start to swell on day two you're gonna need the room, right?
Once again these guys has provided me with an outstanding product. Salomon GCS Pro Shoes are the best shoe on the market, hands down! They are truly a trail runners shoe, with great traction control and comfort. I absolutely love this pair of shoes, and have recommended it to every one of my team mates at 3rd Force Reconnaissance Co. As far as style goes, I have received many complements on my pair! If you are interested in a great trail running shoe, trust me on this, you will not be disappointed with your decision. Salomon GCS Pro Shoes simply have everything I wanted; style, comfort, light weight, dependable, a shoe that can breathe, tough shoe laces, and a dependable name.
These are definitely great shoes, supportive and comfortable, but they could have done without the quick slide lace system which always seems to loosen up on you. Also, you have to find some way to tuck the loose lace parts in so they don't flap around, but again, they always seem to come untucked after a while. Regular old laces work just fine.
Although I liked the shoes (fit and level of cushioning), the CGS mechanism within the midsole of one of the shoes pooped out after just about 150 miles. Salomon indicated that it would be covered by a warranty, so I am awaiting a new pair.
These shoes are great. Great control on the trail in various terrain. Only gig is that they do not protect feet very well in areas where you will run into cactus.
I recently purchased a pair of Salomon GCS Pros for an 18-hour adventure race. The race involved the usualtrekking, mountain biking and canoe/kayaking. We had a mandatory pre-shore dismount in the kayak section, and my right GCS Pro ended up with water in the rear air pocket. Not an impressive showing, although the shoes were comfortable to race in. Luckily, the folks at this site were more responsive than the Salomon reps were, and I am expecting the Raid Race in the mail any day now. The exchange process was painless. Hopefully everyone else will have better luck with the GCS.
This is my fifth pair of Salomons and they are the best AR shoes that I have found. Traction is great, comfort is very good on road and off and they drain water better than any shoe I have owned.
Quick laces are also very helpful for smooth transitions.
In a nutshell, these shoes are awesome. This purchase makes my second pair, and as long as Salomon makes them, I will wear them. The best pair of trail shoes I have ever owned.
These aren't bad, but I like the XA pro 3-d better and they are usually cheaper. These do have great traction, but both of these Salomons seem to be lacking in the cushion department under the ball of your foot. Therefore, even though the shoe is rock solid, it doesn't take long before they feel worn out due to lack of cushioning.
