Salomon Fusion M Low Day Hiking Shoe- Men's - 2007
Slip on the low-cut Salomon Men's Fusion Shoes and go for a hike in the rain or head to the hardware store. The Fusion's stitchless softshell material provides durable water resistance and breathability to keep you dry and comfortable wherever you take them. The first time you cinch the simple Quickfit laces, you'll think you've been wearing these ultralight hikers forever. Salomon's Sensifit technology cradles the contours of your foot to ensure a secure and custom fit. As you hike another mile or put another 2x4 in your shopping cart, the Fusion's lightweight feather construction breathes well to keep your feet comfortable while the durable Contagrip hiking sole gives you exceptional traction. The Salomon Men's Fusion hiker is great for everyday use or for those days when you don't want the weight of a hiking boot.
Bottom Line: Salomon used its latest innovations in the Fusion to give you a high-performance shoe for the trail or the street.
The Salomon Fusion are the most comfortable shoes ever! Normally hiking shoes need to be broken in before serious use, but not these babies. I took these straight out of the box and conquered the 14-mile roundtrip to 11049-ft Telescope Peak in Death Valley! My feet did not hurt the entire time. They are lightweight, comfortable, stylish, and simply the best hiking shoes money can buy.
I bought them for indoor work on carpet. In less then 3 months the glue has started to separate. I will never complain about anything else on these shoes...just fix this problem!
immediately comfortable, except you have to consider that a softshell without any reinforcement means less stability. I wouldn't want to hike downhill for any length of time since the softshell lets your foot slide forward. In the same sense the forefoot allows for a lot of lateral motion. I bought them for work and leisure and for that they are perfect they go with all my pants, easy on in the morning, easy off for the lunch time run, sheds water like rubber after cleaning the snow off my car, feet never get hot in the softshell.
I am confused by all the good reviews these shoes are getting. I really like the look and fit. The closure system is great progress. HOWEVER, these shoes are glued all around, which made me skeptical to start with. Sure enough the rubber is coming off the fabric around the toe cap after hiking every weekend for about 1 month. Such a shame but looks like a design flaw.
without the sturdy fabric and stitching usually found shoes in this class these did not stand up. the softshell material started to come unglued from the toe bumper after 4 months and continued to threaten further detatchment so I had to return them under salomons 1 year policy. nice looking shoe, unfortunately what they offer in comfort they lack in long term quality and ruggedness
They're great, super easy to get on and off with the pull/cinch system. No tie laces but plenty snug and easy to slip on and off. While I can't say I've had the opportunity to test them in the field much, but they're probably the best hiking shoes I've owned.
Another great shoe joins my growing Salomon collection. The cinch lacing system as always is terrific. I wore these shoes hiking in Scotland and they provided good grip in the dry. One morning in very heavy dew though and my feet were soaking, so I picked another pair of Fusions; with Gore-Tex XCR. Same great fit and comfort and not a drop of water penetrated even when traversing very wet boggy ground for hours.
