Salomon's Exit Sport GTX Shoe makes excursions out of the rat race easier than first grade math. Nestled in waterproof leather, breathable anti-debris mesh, and a GORE-TEX membrane, your feet feel magnificent and stay dry on your escape from the asphalt. The Exit Sport GTX Shoe wraps your foot snugly while a rugged X-Mountain Contagrip charges over rocks and moderate terrain like a mountain goat. A toecap and mudguard deter the dirt and debris that would otherwise age your shoe into a shriveled corpse. Bonus: an OrthoLite liner keeps your feet from smelling like the compost.
Bottom Line: Exit the rat race and get into nature – even in pounding rain.
I love these shoes! These are the 3rd pair of Salomon's I've owned and honestly don't think I would buy any other brand. They have a nice fit right out of the package and are great for walking around in all day. So far they have kept my fee dry without making them sweaty or hot. Love 'em!!!
I used this shoe to hike Half Dome in Yosemite - ~17 miles. Great overall shoe. Very comfortable but slightly too big. I wear a size 8 and ordered a size 8. My next shoe would be a mid-top for more ankle support.
I bought these shoes to replace my water-proof salomons from 5 years ago (if that tells you anything about quality). I needed a shoe that would be warm and waterproof for winter walking around town. I love the look of these shoes, and they are generally pretty comfortable. The only problem is that the connected tongue on one of the shoes get's a wrinkle in it if I am not careful when I tie it, and this can be pretty uncomfortable. This is easy to fix though, and isn't always a problem. My friend at work took one look at these babies and bought a pair on backcountry.com as well (a week after I did when they went on sale!). I would recomend these shoes as a basic waterproof shoe, and suggest that you buy a half size smaller than usual, as salomon tends to run large.
these shoes are pretty cozy and kept my feet dry while snowshoeing. I had to return them TWICE, the sizing is huge, i thought i was ordering mens shoes at first. Still a bit big but manageable.
I've been a size 8.5 shoe for 20 years and with these I'm a size 8! Too bad you must pay to ship them back and also for the new pair to arrive. Beware, size down 1/2
I have owned now 3 pairs of Salomon shoes, and I have loved each of them and still wear the now falling apart pair that I bought 7 years ago. I always get blisters with other shoes, and I hiked to half dome and back in a day and had none with these. I do normally wear a 9 though, and tried a 9, 8.5 and finally settled on the 8. So you might want to order a half and whole size down from what is true to size for you.
