Salomon B52 TS GTX Winter Boot - Women's

The Salomon Women's B52 TS GTX Winter Boot is designed for serious backcountry use, but it's sleek enough to wear around town. What you can't see behind the classy full-grain leather upper is a Gore-Tex Koala lining that keeps your feet completely dry, even if you're standing in inches of water. Salomon insulated these winter boots with 400g of Thinsulate BQ and added a synthetic fur lining, so your feet stay toasty whether you're trudging through wet snow or strolling to the store.

Bottom Line: Stay warm without sacrificing style.

Great quality -feet stay warm and dry

By:
April 13, 2009

I used it on a rainy day to walk around on the muddy field and my feet stayed completely dry and warm. The temperature was ~40F, but my feet weren't over heated. Great quality.

I have a narrow foot and near flat feet. Do these run wide, narrow or just "normal"? Can you cinch down around the ankle to minimize heel slippage?

I think they run the same as other Salomon's, which is a touch large. My size 10 says equivalent to size 42-2/3, and a 10 is usually a 41.5 or 42. I think you could adjust the fit with the socks you wear. I have the Snowtrip also, and those have regular laces which are easier to adjust for the heel than the speed laces that are on these. There is also more arch support in the Snowtrip. With both I can wear expedition weight socks and wool liner and not feel smooshed :)

Comfy and Warm

By:
February 13, 2007

I have been slogging around in Sorels for years. The footwear of ice-fishing Minnesotans. After years in the West I realized I needed something more fit for winter activities. I thought they were stiff at first, but I think it is just that they actually have support, when the sorels had none. They have great traction too - I haven't slipped once.

Best Tough Weather Boots

By:
January 3, 2008

I own and operate a greenhouse and nursery business in Maine. We have 11 houses outside and are in and out all day. We do most of our own snow maintenance. After using these boots for a year, I bought them for my entire winter crew. Salomon is the best, and the laces are simple for frozen fingers. Having dry feet in a wet environment is critical during winter in Maine, Thanks Salomon!

Warm, Toasty and stylish

By:
January 10, 2008

Bought these boots thinking they would be like every other winter boot I have owned. -heavy, bulky, uncomfortable and leaving me with cold feet. I was very pleased these boot are nothing like that at all. They were surprisingly light, comfy and my feet did not get cold once. I would recommend these boots to anyone. They are a little more money but worth every penny.

Excellent Choice

By:
December 17, 2008

After doing ALOT of research for a winter boot, I chose these.. Brand new out of the box, I hiked 14 miles round trip, with 3,000 ft. of elevation, in snow. At times being close to knee deep. Must say, I was the only one with warm and very happy feet.( I also had gators on ) Felt like well broken in old friends. The tread could be better, but, I got these for snowshoeing/hiking. They have a tendency to slip on icy ground, but what doesn't! I would highly recommend these boots. Very lightweight... Might have to buy another pair before they are no longer available!

Great boot

By:
December 4, 2008

The Salomon B52 TGTX is a great winter boot that I mainly wear for easy walks, shopping etc. in snowy weather. Very comfy, light weight, absolutely water proof, lots of room for your feet. I now own two pairs of the B52 and am so pleased that I have done away with my regular city boots. However, I would not use this boot for heavy duty winter hiking in back country or for snow shoes as it is relatively low cut and the strings are a bit difficult to pull tightly.

What a great boot!

By:
February 19, 2009

Thank you to all the people who wrote reviews before me! You were right on! These boots were comfortable from the very beginning. I bought a half size larger to accommodate a mid-weight wool sock and my feet were never cold. I snow-shoed all day in deep snow, with Vermont temperatures in the teens. I especially loved the softness of the lining. Makes you wanna wear a skirt so everyone else can see them!!

These are Great!

By:
February 20, 2009

My dad didn't like the last pair of boots I picked out for myself 5 years ago, and when they wore out, he promised to find the perfect new pair. :) It took him a good 8 mos. and he found these. I love them! I put them on the next day to go extreme snow tubing, and my only complaint is that they are a little stiff, but the reviews stated this. They are very warm, and accommodate my wide foot very well with a thick Smart Wool hiking sock on.

Superlight, very well insulated (aka soft warm and comfy) and they definitely keep me dry. I do a lot of woods walking following tracks and birds, long periods of time out there often sitting in one spot and these keep me really warm. The handle on the back makes them easy to slip into and out of. If there's one qualm it's the laces, they have the easy to use salomon pull-up system but to get these really snug takes a little extra effort than just pulling from the top (have to pull on the middle laces first, then the top) but that's far from being a hinderance. I've taken these on a few long walks and so far I absolutely love them.

I am one of those people that once my toes/hands/person gets cold, I stay cold for long periods of time! These boots never allow my footsies to get cold, thus making the rest of my body very jealous.

These boots are lightweight, warm, and very comfortable. Great for everything from snowshoeing to shoveling the walk!
