Designed for serious backcountry use but also sleek enough for wearing around town, the Salomon Men's B52 TS GTX Winter Boot boasts durability and couth. The Salomon full-grain leather upper adds a touch of class and tons of durability for a long-lasting winter boot. For the inevitable torrential downpours, the B52's Gore-Tex Koala lining keeps your feet completely dry, even if you're standing in six inches of water. Insulated with 400g of Thinsulate BQ and synthetic fur lining, the Salomon B52 keeps your feet toasty, whether you're hitting the trails or taking a stroll.
Bottom Line: Stay warm, stay dry, stay in-style, with the B52 TS GTX Winter Boot.
In walking around the house, I found these boots very comfortable. However, there are only 5 "eyelets" where there would normally be 7 on a boot of this height. The odd lacing system makes it difficult to tighten them enough, especially around the instep (where they are especially loose) without making them too tight at the ankle. You can't really make them very tight even at the ankle with that plastic clamp on the laces.
The sole has a slightly rounded cross section and does not provide much lateral stability (i.e., pronation control). I would worry about tackling uneven ground in these boots.
My feet are somewhat narrower than average. I returned the Salomons and found that Merrell Chameleon Thermo 8's (in the same size) fit much me better and provide the desired support.
Great book love solamon shoes. Kept mine and my wifes (she got the same ones in womens) feet warm and dry on a snowy overnighter with single digit temps, and at the AFC championship game the same weekend. GO STEELERS
great warm huge boots for trudging around in the snow or on snow shoes. Not great for cold city dwelling because they are so big that most pant cuff dont fit over them easily and they look kind of funny that way. They almost look like snowboarding boots. I highly reccomend these if you want complete warmth and protection from the snow and elements, while sacrificing style and steez.
The boots are warm, comfortable, and watertight. I have been wearing them into work through all of the muck and snow in the Northeast. Walking around other commuters who are scrambling for traction, trying to avoid puddles/slush is quite amusing. Not to mention these are easily the best boots I have had for just trekking around trails, snow-covered or not. The fit is just slightly larger than true but if you wear some SmartWools they are fine. Highly recommended.
I believe these boots are made in China. As for a temp. rating, I've had them down to -10ºf but my feet started to really feel the cold so I don't know that I'd even go down to that again. I ended up with the Sorel Caribou's.
These are so comfy and warm. They size accurately. The quick lace system is always great when you are adventuring. These took me up Tuckerman Ravine several times this year. I was worried that they would be too hot in the spring, but they were not.
I was looking for a fashionable shoe but also practical to keep my feet warm and the Salomon B52 TS GTX Winter boot was just that. Even when tighten fully the shoe still felt loose. Needs a little better arch support. Need to make a pair in black...I would purchase the boot again
anyone know where i can find this boot in mens 10.5 in BLACK? i am not a fan of the brown and cant seem to find these boots anywhere. thanks for your time.
There have some at Boradway shoes store. 119.00 on saleI'm selling a pair on eBay right now! black men's 10.5. Used once (literally) and felt they were too big. I normally wear a 9.5-10 but got these on sale so I thought I'd suck it up and try the 10.5. Oh well.... check them out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230321353533
I purchased these mainly for snowshoeing here in Utah. They are lighter than most boots so they are ideal for snowshoeing. They are comfortable right out of the box and have kept my feet from feeling any coldness at all. I purchased a size 13, like I do with most shoes/boots, but decided a size 14 would be better with heavier socks on. I really have no complaints with this boot. It's easily keeping my feet toasty with single digit temps and only a thin sock on. And BTW, the traction is great as well, helps when snowblowing the lovely Utah fluff.
Warm, Fuzzy, and completely waterproof. Can't say enough about these boots. They look great, are relatively easy to get in and out of, and the drawstring laces make it possible to run outside for just a second without having to sit and lace up.
they are the same. I have many different models of shoes and boots from both manufacters and ijust ask for my size. I Never try them on cause I know they all fit the same.
fit great excellent support and fast delivery i like the fact of not tying my boots every time, yet they manage to keep my feet warm and dry. i love these boots
These boots are awesome, I've began to use these over my Dannars. They are so warm and comfortable.. I would buy another pair in a heartbeat.. I would suggest these to anyone..
Yes, they can ship this to Canada. Just add it to you cart and begin filling out your information and address and it will tell how much it's going to cost to ship it.
these are the best all around boot i have ever bought in my life, i bought a pair from L.L. Bean and i think they have great grip; incredible comfort, amazing warmth, and excellant support for both foot and ankle, my quest for winter snow boots is over
Finally warm feet all winter! These boots look good, aren't huge clodhoppers, and offer easy on and off with the unique lacing system. They offer good traction even on ice but don't track in too much crud.
These boots run very true to size in width as well as length. If you're looking for something a little wider try either Sorel's or Keen's. Both tend to run fairly wide.Hope that helps.
These boots won't fail to keep your toes warm on those cold, snowy trails in the winter. Their tough shell is flexible, yet durable, and will outlive rough use. Soles have great grip. I even use them inside some times when I need something I can rely on lifting things up stairs in.
I live in south Florida. Bought the boots online for spending the holidays in New England. I was born and raised there, so I know what winter boots are all about. I spent my time up there, snowboarding, hiking, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and at bonfire parties. They kick ass! Draw string laces are the way to go. Easy on and off. No break in. Got them early, turned down my air conditioning figuring I had to break them in. Nope, wore them for eight hours, no sores, blisters, or discomfort. They kept my feet warm and dry through some cool times. I got a lot of compliments on their style and look. If I had it to do all over again, one thing I wouldnt change is buying these boots! Rock on!
Hey I am just wondering if these boots will accept crampons. Im not a serious winter hiker, just day hikes at this point and I am a big fan of salomon boots.
I own Salomon ski bindings, gloves and now boots. These boots are both warm outdoors and cool (comfortable) indoors. The boots breathe, so your feet don't get sweaty when indoors. I am a diabetic and need a comfortable work boot. I will never buy another winter boot. These boots rock.
Sized just right. Just came back from a snow shoe expedition in the Bighorns and they were totally warm and stayed dry. Feet never got cold. Very light and comfortable right out of the box!
I was wondering how the sizing was on these boots. I own a pair of salomon cross trainers and they are a 13 and fit good but was curious if these fit smaller or anything. thanks
These boots by Salomon are bullet proof. Very comfortable and warm. Quick pull lace works great. The lace stash pocket could be a little bigger. It can be hard to stuff them all in. Highly recommended.
These boots are by far the most comfortable and useful boots I have ever owned. I like the way they slip off and on without having to tie and untie them. My feet have never been cold or wet in these boots. We live in Michigan where we get lots of snow, especially this year. I wear them to work, when I am clearing snow around the house and whenever I go walking in the winter time. My wife also has these boots and wears them when she walks the dog in the woods and around town and she likes them as much as I do. We recently bought a pair for our son, who is very picky, he likes them too. I also have a coworker who saw my boots and bought the same ones and he likes them as well.
I invested in these boots to have warm, dry feet. This they do VERY well. they are extreemly comfortable my feet love them. i had to invest in a size 9 when i wear 9.5-10.5 because my size is usually sold out. they are a bit small but nothing i can't deal with. WARNING!!!! THESE BOOTS ABSOLUTELY SUCK ON ICE!!!! We had freezing rain the other day and walking home from work was hell!!! upon arrival of my home i allmost tossed them in the trash i was so mad. wal-mart boots have more traction. these boots will work for this winter but i think i will invest in a better pair next year.
My wife I have had these boots for one year now and they are great in the deep snow and weather. They feel great right out of the box and we snowshoed 6 miles the first time we used and the feet were warm, dry, and comfortable with the fleece lining.
I would buy them again. My family has also bought them for snowmobiling in Wisconsin.
I bought these for sloshing around in slush and powder and general winter junk. They work very well, keeping my feet warm down to -10C. Very comfortable as well. They are very close to true size, but you might want to get a half-size smaller than regular. Definitely a good buy. -drew
Great boots.. very supportive, very very warm... I love the fake fur and the cinch cord laces, plus the lace pocket... great cold weather boots, they're so nice they might as well be snowboarding boots, but I don't think they would have the upper shin support or snap into the bindings....
I bought these boots for backcountry snowshoeing, but when they arrived I saw that instead of traditional laces they cinched up with an elastic draw cord and toggle closure. I wouldn't risk my safety to a made in wherever plastic toggle, so I returned them. I wouldn't wear these boots for any outdoor activity other than, maybe, shoveling my driveway.
