Great Heart Rate Monitor

By:

I love my Suunto T1. Reliable, seemingly more accurate than previous monitors, and easy to use. Well, easy to use once you've spent about an hour reading the instructions and practicing. Now, it's awesome. Love the zones feature; love the additional screen features (i.e. the physical calorie & zone measures on the watch itself); it works well in the water too.

Only complaint is the face: within 2 days I had a huge scratch, and though I've been careful, after a month had another big digger. I'd recommend taking a screen protector (i.e. for a PDA) and cutting a circle to put over the face. Works pretty well.

from skeptical to sold

At first I thought this watch (the red which is more like a dark dark pink) looked ridiculous on me. I am a small girl and the watch face is rather large. I gave it a try anyway. Had it programmed in 4 minutes, it tracks heart rate percentage and lets you know when you've reached the targets you set, tells you calorie use, and can do multiple time laps. After a few uses I have fallen in love with the functionality. The quirky look has grown on me. My husband has a suunto too and when we hike or run together our watches are able to keep our heart rates separate. I was really concerned about this and know it can be a problem. The only time we had trouble was when we were sitting in the car together. I also love that I didn't spend a fortune!

I am tech impaired and this heart rate monitor is so easy to program for someone who wants to use the watch and monitor right away without having to flip through a million instructions. The price makes it even better. I am a nurse and this monitor is very accurate! Love it!

It does have regular watch functions in the time mode. Also, timing functions (chronograph) in the training mode.

I bought this watch last September and it's had a pretty rough life so far. I take it in and out of saltwater constantly, rough it in some construction issues, and I've taken it diving. It holds up really well and is an awesome heart rate monitor as well! I would definitely recommend this watch to someone was looking for great quality minus a lot of bells and whistles.

Good deal

I like the watch, the service and the whole transaction. My one small issue was the picture on the advertisement. The watch color appeared darker in the ad picture than it actually was. I was expecting more of an Olive Drab green from the looks of the picture and what I got was more like lima bean green.

Good to go

So I have a T3, decided to get the T1 for my finance as she didn't really want all the Log information or to hook it up with any of the PODS. She just wanted something simple that she could keep track of her heart rate and calories.
So far she is loving her T1, she says that the motivation factor to keep going to get the average heart rate and burn the amount of calories she wants to burn over an entire workout is great. It's great that once you leave the cardio area and start doing resistance training that you continue to keep track of your calories and heart rate to keep you motivated.
If you just want something simple, easy to use and aren't interested in hooking up PODS to the watch, you will love this watch.

I wore this for almost a week straight when I got it. I have taken it out on several runs and hikes, to the gym and yoga.
It took me a while to figure out how to work everything, still getting there even. But I figured it out enough to get my calories burned counted...wow! that is awesome. It really helps me take in enough calories to not drain my body after work outs. The chest strap is very comfortable and I forget I have it on, I wore it under normal clothes and no one could tell. You have to get the back of the chest strap moist to work. The numbers are a good size and easy to read. I have a very small wrist and this fits it perfect. It is not bigger than my wrist. I even had someone at the cellphone store comment on how pretty it was and when I told them it was a heart rate monitor they were in shock one could be so small and stylish!
