Spyder Vanish Systems Jacket - Men's - 2008

Pull on the Spyder Men’s Vanish Systems Jacket for full-mountain versatility from the first snowfall to the last spring corn run. This functional system features a fully waterproof shell jacket with a lightweight insulating piece, so you can wear either piece by itself or both together for varying conditions. A Spylon water-repellant coating on both the shell and insulating layers brushes off moisture, and 80 grams of Thinsulate synthetic insulation keeps you toasty on chilly powder days.

Bottom Line: Vanish into waterproof warmth with this jacket.

I really like this jacket, but i still don't know if it will

I really like this jacket, but i still don't know if it will fit my boyfriend based on the sizing charts. He's a "weight lifter" and has huge arms and shoulders...i mean huge. And he's 6'2, so he has long arms/torso. He isnt fat though, so the problem is that when we find a coat that fits his shoulders, its huge in the waist also. So we're in a real dilemma... nothing he tries on fits at the stores because they only carry XL, or XXL and they never fit. How do yuo think this jacket would fit?

worth every penny

ok- i gawked over the price last year but one season down and I cant wait to ski in Europe this spring in it again. It was good on the cold high wind days on the chair and kept in the heat. In white light- the guys could see me! I have neverbought a spyder before and will buy again after columbia didnt deliver...
on a bright sunny day-I could strip down to a t shirt and tie it around my waist and go because its quite light weight. Now we have to see how long it will last- so far so good.... good movement in powder and dry as a bone. Now im looking for the outturn or killers in the same blue to finish the ensemble...im usually cheap but am now glad I shelled out...it is well made and really useful.

You can pretty much go by the sizing chart provided. These jackets fit true to size. They have nice length arms and the torso length hangs nearly long enough to cover your backside. Great jacket, moves well, breathes well insulates well.Hope that helps.

great jacket

this is a great jacket for tough winter. Lots of functional pocket space too. The only downside for the price you pay is that there is no snap in or zip-in compatibility for the liner, so it is a bit annoying when it comes to the liner moving around, and also the fact that you need to zip up two zippers everytime. Other than that the style is great and i would highly recommend it.
