Smith 2007 Variant Brim Snow Helmet - 2007

Smith's Variant Brim Snow Helmet features Hybrid construction and a sleek brim to produce an effective helmet with tons of style. The Hybrid construction includes an ABS/InMold PC shell and EPS liner to create a lightweight and high-impact-absorbing helmet. AirEvac 2 technology allows this helmet to work well with goggles by increasing air flow and reducing goggle fogging. The Smith Variant uses 16 vents for better climate control, so you don't get a steamy noggin.

Bottom Line: Smith's Variant Brim Snow Helmet lets you catch some air without your mom freaking out about how you're gonna die.

this helmet is so comfortable. it was between this and the giro g10 mx but everyone has the g10. it is lighter than the giro and has more vents. its even nicer in person than in the photo. if u want a sweet helmet this is the one you want

best helmet out of the 5 i've had

By:

fits better than other helmets. vents close fast and easy. most goggles work without gaps and the visor is bad-ass. hitting the visor on trees makes it come lose. use crazy glue to fix that.

This helmet has saved my life twice already, and I've only worn it three times. It's very comfortable, and also greta looking, unique upon the hills. Match your stuff together and you're set to go brotha.

Variant Brim Snow Helmet

The fit is good. It is quiet. I like the looks. I feel more safe wearing the helmet. I wish both vents worked!

Nice

The helmet is comfortable, adjustable, and stylish. I put it to the test twice on Saturday; once against a tree branch and once head first into the snow. It worked both times.

I am wondering about sizing. Do you have head size parameters

I am wondering about sizing. Do you have head size parameters regarding the fit for this brand of helmet?

Yep, measure the maximum circumference of your head in centimeters and then use the following dimensions to decide which size you need. Small is 51-55 cm, Medium is 55-59 cm, and Large is 59-63 cm. My head is 59 cm, which could fit either a medium or large. I found the large to be much more comfortable though.

This helmet is exactly what my son wanted -- it's great! And thank you for the great customer service; originally, I ordered the wrong style, but you made it easy to return and get the correct one. Thanks again!

Smith brim helmet

The two vents that close/open independently are hard to use in the cold and snow. My Giro with one lever, is MUCH easier to use. The Brim also is colder at the lower back of the head than my Giro. Would also have preferred a yellow top rather than the black top for visibility in the trees.

This is my third and last helmet I will ever own. Besides looking completely rad, this helmet functions great. Unlike other helmets with no adjustments, this thing can be micro adjusted for a prefect fit every time. The vents are easy to open and close, even with gloves. It is light and comfortable. Smith sure came on strong into the helmet game. Awesome!

Great fit, horrible durability...

By:
February 27, 2008

Pro's: Great fitting helmet with the best ventilation I've found. Very comfortable and warm and offers great coverage. Con's: Plastic bits are just too delicate. The first day I wore this helmet the goggle retainer snap ripped free from the strap. I returned the helmet and had a few months of trouble free use from the replacement. That ended when the adjustment sliders in the rear of the helmet stripped out. Nothing broke per say, but the sliders would no longer click and lock into place leaving the helmet useless as it was no longer a snug fit. Smith has a great thing with this line if they can sort out the durability of the plastic. I'll keep replacing them under warranty until they stop giving me new ones.

top notch

very good ventilation to this puppy. with 14 (i belive) vents, fogging is not an issue. other then that, the fit is great, and its taking a couple spills with me. The sliding closures to the vents get a little sticky sometimes and needs some elbow grease to open/close
