When the runs at your local hill have trenches carved all over them, you'll know the Salomon XW Tornado Alpine Ski with Z12 Ti Bindings just blew through town. The secrets to this Salomon ski's carving success are its Power Pad and Spaceframe construction. The Spaceframe directs your energy from the boot around onto the edge for power, and the elastomer Power Pad kills vibration for a smoother ride. While the Salomon XW Tornado skis love to lay down deep arcs, a generous shovel helps them crush crud and even float out the occasional powder run as well. The Z12 Ti bindings are light, yet secure, with an adjustable DIN of 4 through 12 and Salomon’s automatically adjusting toepiece wings. From ice, to groomers, to glop, these Salomon skis are the single-quiver solution to improving your skiing.
Bottom Line: Balanced and fun in any conditions, the Salomon XW Tornado won't let you down.
You can pick your order and put it in your cart, then proceed to checkout. This doesn't mean you have to buy, but it will give you the shipping options, and then the total for this and shipping to where you are.
the ti version has a sheet of titanium in them while these are w/out. it all depends on if you want a lighter ski or one that will hold a little better on ice, and be a little more stable at speed. I would say the ti will be worth it if you like to ski fast on icy slopes. I had a hard time deciding which one I liked better, they are both super fun.
I am looking to buy the Salomon xw tornados. I have demoed the 08 model which is very light which I like. The 09 models now have titanium in them which I have been told are heavier by my local rep. Does anyone know exactly how much heavier? I would actually like to know the actual weights of the skis with bindings. Thanks to the one who can answer this question
