Salomon SPK Pro Model Ski Boot - Men's - 2008

The Salomon SPK Pro Model Boot may only have two buckles, but as they say, it’s got a big ol’ pair. In fact, underneath the glam leather enhancements and gold bling trim, those two buckles provide more support and better performance for park heads than many four-buckle competitors. In the land of fat, shaped twins and huge air, forward pressure is no longer required to drive a ski. The focus shifts to lateral support, progressive flex, and shock absorption, which this two-buckle design has in spades. The SPK is dialed from a 110-flex freestyle boot into a park and superpipe-specific tool, with shock pads in the toe and midsole, and a super-custom laced thermoforming liner for out-of-the-box precision fit. Salomon threw some slick two-tone leather on top, sure…but that’s just the icing.

Bottom Line: There’s beef behind this bling.

used them for the first time last sat. they where great. i Have yet to test them on jumps because last weekend was opening weekend so they did not have any jumps open, how ever they handle nicely on boxes and rails and i have yet to get shine splints since these.

You would get a 26.5mm boot and possibly a 26mm. you get at least the same as your shoe if not a 1/2 size smaller depending on the boot. When you put the boot on your toes sould touch the end and when you flex foreward your toes sould pull away, also make sure when you flex foreward that it holds your heel tight and that is does not move.Hey what's up. Go down a size in these boots for sure. I'm a street 8.5 and picked these up in a 25.0. The super cush liner is gonna pack out and you don't want to be floating around inside your ski boots. They'll feel pretty snug at first, but by the end of your first day everything will be dialed. Willie###'s fit technique breakdown is spot on.

Not Just Flash

Nope. A legit boot with over-the-top stylings. I picked these up to use as a comfy park boot and for those days when you just feel like cruising. I don't need my feet crushed in my plug boots every day, ya know? The out of the box fit will straight spoil your feet. By my second run I had forgotten that it was my first day in a new pair of boots. The BOA style liner is a great idea. Your ankles will be snugged into the heel pocket of the boot without the need to crank hard on your buckles. They are also stiff enough for all-mountain riding, much more supportive that I would have thought. For big days on big skis, I'm still sticking with my racer boots, but otherwise it looks like I'm going to be pimping these way more often than I expected when I picked them up. A last note: I wear Asterisk knee braces which have always made my boot liners look like a doggy chew toy after just a few runs. But after 4 hours of tram laps, these still looked new. I'm not under the impression that this will last forever, but it is nice to see that they are going to be durable. Dropping!
