Salomon RS Carbon Skate Boot

Salomon's RS Carbon Skate gives you racing technology with added comfort. Salomon gave the RS Carbon Skate Boot a 3D energizer cuff for high lateral support, firm edge control, and faster ski return. The Carbon skating plate stores energy when flexing and restitutes it at the end of your kick for more power. A thermal-moldable and Lycra liner offers a custom fit, and Sensifit overlap construction envelopes the foot for better control and transmission.

Bottom Line: Racing just got a lot more comfortable.

Love these Boots!

By:
November 11, 2008

I really do love these boots! They are plenty stiff although it doesn't feel like you're strapped to a 2x4. They flex enough to keep things comfortable and the boots are literally comfortable enough that they can be worn all day and the feet never start to nag. The lacing system is a defininte plus and feels very stable. All in all these are great boots. Never had a complaint yet, don't expect any in the future!

they are unisex but please be weary that they are listed in UK sizes and that they might not fit a good as a women's or men's specific boot.

Performance Slippers

By:

These boots fit like glove, are very light and not bulky. After trying on many boots, these felt just right. They are my first pair of boots and my learning curve was a fast one partially I believe because of these boots. They are a good balance between comfort and performance. As far as I can tell the pilot system seems like a winner. If these boots fit your feet, I say buy them.

If all boot options feel okay, should one opt for pilot skate

If all boot options feel okay, should one opt for pilot skate bindings over the other two types? Also, can a skate boot be too stiff in the sole, or is it just stiffer=better for skate boots?

It really depends on what type of skiing you're doing. It's mostly personal preference between the three styles. I prefer pilot's but that's just me.For skate you generally want a pretty stiff boot so generally skate boots are not going to be too stiff.Hope that helps.

Nice boots

Just finished the Birkie this weekend wearing these boots. I was slow, but it wasn't because of the boots that were very comfortable. Lacing is a dream.
